Former Attorney General Pam Bondi was reportedly diagnosed with cancer after leaving the Trump administration.
On Tuesday, Axios reported that Bondi has been appointed to a new role on the Presidential Council of Advisors on Science and Technology (PCAST), but at the end of the article, it was revealed that she underwent treatment for thyroid cancer. A source claimed that the diagnosis came shortly after her departure from the Department of Justice, and that she is currently recovering.
In her new role on the AI-focused advisory committee, Bondi will join White House Science Adviser Michael Kratsios and White House AI Adviser David Sacks and is tasked with “facilitating coordination between the government and the tech titans on the panel.” Other tech giants such as “Nvidia co-founder Jensen Huang, Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg, and Oracle co-founder Larry Ellison” will also be involved, according to the report.
In a statement, Vice President JD Vance sang Bondi’s praises.
“Pam has been an enormously valuable asset to the president’s team, and I’m thrilled for her and for all of us that she’s going to remain involved in confronting some of the most important issues the administration faces,” he said.

“Pam has been quietly kicking cancer’s ass the last few weeks. [Bondi] has a heart of gold,” wrote former White House official and podcaster Katie Miller in an X post.
Others commented on the situation:
Wishing nothing but the best for Pam Bondi. Just a perfect AG for victims everywhere. So many officials in the courts, judicial officials, and judges that are apathetic towards victims. Pam Bondi just never stopped helping and doing whatever she could for America’s crime victims

Best news, thank you for sharing! It’s a tough battle, I know, been there myself. Best luck to Pam and a long, happy life!

It has been 10 years since I had thyroid cancer. Hoping it was caught early so it can be kicked in the garbage.

🚨🇺🇸 Pam Bondi has been battling thyroid cancer… and by all accounts she’s winning.
The former Attorney General was diagnosed shortly after stepping down from the Justice Department in April.
She has since undergone treatment and is recovering.
