Pamela Anderson unrecognizable in new Netflix documentary where she vows to ‘take control’ of her narrative

Actress Pamela Anderson, 55, looks radically different in minimal makeup as she appears in a new Netflix documentary about her life that will debut on January 31, following a miniseries about her infamous sex tape which reportedly upset her.

The documentary is titled, “Pamela, A Love Story.” It contrasts her bombshell looks that skyrocketed her to fame in the 1990s with her much more demure, older look now. It will come out the same day as her tell-all memoir called “Love, Pamela,” which is published by Harper Collins and Dey Street Books, according to the Daily Mail.

“I didn’t sleep last night at all,” the “Baywatch” star states at the beginning of the trailer for her Netflix documentary.

She then brings up the renewed interest in her infamous sex tape, which was made with her first husband, rocker Tommy Lee of Motley Crue.

The sex tape story was made into a drama miniseries called “Pam And Tommy.” It starred Lily James and Sebastian Stan.

Anderson makes it clear in the trailer that she is disturbed by the resurfacing of her sex tape.

“I blocked that stolen tape out of my life in order to survive, and now that it’s all coming up again, I feel sick,” she emotionally remarked.

The pinup girl commented that she does not feel that she has received “a lot of respect” during her career as a sex symbol.

One of the clips shows actress Ruby Wax asking her, “Did you want to be a serious actress?”

Anderson responded, “I am a serious actress!”

“I had to make a career out of the pieces left, but I’m not the damsel in distress,” Anderson claimed. “I put myself in crazy situations and survived them.”

The promo shows various clips of Anderson’s professional forays, including one of her practicing for Celebrity Boxing. She was also part of a Comedy Central Roast and was part of the cast of Chicago on Broadway.

Anderson has been in the headlines over the last several years for her friendship with activist Julian Assange as well.

She has had six failed marriages that involved five ex-husbands.

“Some men think: ‘Oh, she’s a Playboy thing, or the sexual person,’ and they hate you for being something else,” she explained in the trailer clip amid a montage of her girlie mag covers.

One clip shows her speaking to interviewer Piers Morgan about her love life, telling him, “One man can’t do it all.”

She asserted at one point in the trailer, “You have to be brave, and you gotta use what you got.”

Toward the end of the trailer, Anderson asks, “Why can’t we be the heroes of our own life story?”

And then jokes, “Maybe I just do all the interviews naked. There’s no mystery here!”

It all seems to come back to her portrayal in “Pam and Tommy.”

An Entertainment Tonight source claimed that the miniseries “has been very painful for Pamela Anderson and for anyone that loves her. It is shocking that this series is allowed to happen without her approval.”

The source went on to say that Anderson “feels so violated to this day” by the theft of the sex tape and that the show “brings back a very painful time for her.”

Courtney Love, who is a friend of Anderson’s, slammed the miniseries as “vile” and “outrageous.” She wrote on social media, “My heart goes out to Pammy further causing her complex trauma.”

“And shame on Lily James whoever the f*** she is,” Love further commented.

Anderson said that appearing in Chicago on Broadway “feels like another step closer to taking my power back and really taking it back.”

“It’s very empowering. And it does feel like I’m being supported. I’m being rooted for, that’s a new feeling for me. I don’t want to let anybody down, but I also really don’t want to let myself down,” she added.
