Former Vice President Mike Pence told Congress on Tuesday that he discovered a small number of classified documents at his home in Carmel, Indiana on Jan. 16 and informed the National Archives on Jan. 18 who, in turn, informed the FBI.

This follows the ongoing discovery of classified material at President Biden’s homes and at his former office in Washington, D.C.
A dozen allegedly classified documents were found in two small boxes along with two other boxes that contained copies of vice presidential papers, according to Fox News Digital.
On Jan. 18, Greg Jacob, Pence’s attorney, wrote to Acting Director Kate Dillon McClure of the White House Liaison Division National Archives and Records Administration to advise her that papers “containing classified markings” were found at the Indiana residence. Following the discovery, the documents were immediately put in a safe according to Pence. He claims he had been unaware of the presence of classified documents in his home.
In a second letter to the National Archives on Jan. 22, Jacob wrote that on the evening of Jan. 19, the FBI agents arrived at Pence’s Indiana home to retrieve the documents.
The attorney said that Pence “engaged outside counsel, with experience in handling classified documents, to review records stored in his personal home after it became public that documents with classified markings were found in President Joe Biden’s Wilmington residence,” according to the Associated Press.
On the evening that the FBI agents collected the documents from Pence’s home, he was in Washington, D.C. attending the annual March for Life.

It's odd how the FBI always visits conservatives when they aren't home, but comes over for tea when it's Democrats

Pence’s team asserts that the Department of Justice or the agency that issues the documents will need to make a final determination on whether the documents are considered actually classified or not despite the markings on them.
Also taken to the National Archives in Washington, D.C. were other documents that were not marked as classified. No classified documents were reportedly found in Pence’s Advancing American Freedom office.
Chairman James Comer (R-Ky.) of the House Oversight Committee was notified by Pence’s team on Tuesday regarding the classified documents found at his personal residence, according to Fox News Digital.
Despite former President Trump having executive privilege concerning classified material, neither former Vice President Mike Pence nor Biden had such authority when in office.
Pence has stated previously that he didn’t take any classified documents with him when he left office.
In a January interview with Fox Business, Pence detailed a “very formal process” used by his office to handle classified information as well as the steps taken by his team to make sure none were taken with him.
“Before we left the White House, the attorneys on my staff went through all the documents at both the White House and our offices there and at the vice president’s residence to ensure that any documents that needed to be turned over to the National Archives, including classified documents, were turned over. So we went through a very careful process in that regard,” Pence stated.
There was a thunderous response to the disclosure concerning Pence:
Remember when Mike Pence slammed President Trump for having classified documents?
Looks like Mike is the lying hypocrite we always knew he was.
Maybe he should’ve asked “Mother” to keep better track of his papers. pic.twitter.com/wKK25lq9lS

Muir: "Did you take any classified documents with you from the white house?"
Pence: "I did not."
Muir: "Do you see any reason for anyone to take classified docs from the White House."
Pence: "There would be no reason." pic.twitter.com/VsUUntiwU1

🚨🚨🚨 Mike Pence just discovered classified documents at his Indiana home.
Is this real or is the deep state trying to soften the blow for Biden?

Trump, Biden… and now Pence
It’s pretty likely that everyone in DC has classified documents
Yet the only one who got raided was the guy with authority to declassify
Even the Soviets were less brazen

Now Mike Pence has turned over a set of classified documents he found at his house. This is turning into a dark comedy. We all know Obama, Clinton and Bush have these documents at their houses too, right? When will the FBI go search them to check on that? pic.twitter.com/dFwSOMqt33

Classified documents have now reportedly been found at the home of former Vice President Michael Pence. It is a good thing that a "jury of your peers" is not literal or the court might have to strike the entire pool in D.C. for cause… https://t.co/YLGzVCOimm
