Keen eyes spotted a cheeky image that prompted the U.S. Navy to act quickly and scrub the photo from a Pentagon site.
Originally posted to the official Defense Visual Information Distribution Service website, a photo showed a sailor wearing a patch on his sleeve that looked like a WWII recruitment poster and said: “Join the Navy — Save the Big Booty Venezuelans.”
According to the original image, the sailor in the photo was aboard the USS Gerald R. Ford, working on an EA-18G Growler.
⚡️The Pentagon has deleted an image it posted of an American soldier operating on an EA-18G Growler on the aircraft carrier Gerald Ford.

“We are aware of an image containing an unofficial and inappropriate patch circulating online,” the Navy said in a statement to the New York Post. “The patch in question is not consistent with uniform regulations, which state patches must be conservative and will be reflective of naval aviation professionalism.”
“The content has been removed, and the matter is currently under review.”
There were some debates on social media about whether the patch was real or the image was created using AI. But in all, the reactions found the humor in the now-scrubbed photo, with many clamoring to get one of the patches for themselves.

Heh!
My only problem with this is the image was removed.— Greenbrier (@greenbrier_n) April 9, 2026
Does no one have a sense of humor anymore?

Hilarious. If you can’t appreciate military humor, don’t look.
