Fox News correspondent Peter Doocy got into a tiff with White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre on Monday about funding for Americans in the storm-ravaged Southeast, with KJP dismissing his inquiry as “misinformation.”
The network posted a video Tuesday of Doocy not only hitting back but producing the receipts along the way.
“Peter Doocy here outside the West Wing of the White House where this week, one of my questions about foreign aid versus hurricane relief was called misinformation,” the reporter said.
He then referred to his exchange Monday with Jean-Pierre about the Biden-Harris administration having sent $157 million to Lebanon without Congress coming back, but calling on Congress to return to approve funding for people in North Carolina.
“President Biden is fond of saying, show me your budget and I will tell you what you value — if he’s got money for people in Lebanon right now without Congress having to come back. What does it say about his values [that] there’s not enough money right now in North Carolina,” Doocy said at the time.
“That’s no, that is your whole, your whole premise of the question is misinformation, sir,” KJP shot back.

“I’ve got the information right here,” Doocy said in Tuesday’s video. “The vice president is posting on social media about $157 million in additional assistance to the people of Lebanon. President Biden is posting about how the Small Business Administration’s disaster loan program is going to run out of funding if Congress does not come back.”
“To a lot of people watching these briefings, a taxpayer dollar is a taxpayer dollar is a taxpayer dollar. That is not misinformation. That is a fact,” he added.
On Monday, Doocy countered, “You can’t call a question you don’t like misinformation.”
This prompted Biden’s spokesperson to say, “No, what you’re asking me is why Congress needs to come back and do their job. That’s what you’re asking me. Congress needs to come back and do their job and provide extra assistance, extra funding for the disaster relief fund. That’s what Congress needs to do.”
“You may not want that, but that’s okay. That’s what this president wants, and that’s what the vice president wants,” she added, presuming intent on Doocy’s part before storming out of the briefing room.
