U.S. Attorney Jeanine Pirro held a press conference Thursday to announce that a grand jury indicted former Olympian David Hearn on a felony charge for allegedly ripping out a piece of sealant from the bottom of the Reflecting Pool in Washington, D.C.
“One of the most offensive images that I hold in my mind are the images of national monuments that are being debased, roped, torn down, graffitied, and damaged by individuals,” Pirro said.
And while Pirro was focused on preventing deranged, Trump-hating leftists from vandalizing our nation’s capital as America celebrates its 250th anniversary this weekend, a biased reporter was more interested in running interference for Hearns, 67, by trying the case at the presser instead of a court of law.
Pirro: He caused damage and that damage was over $1000.
Reporter: How do you prove that?
Pirro: With an expert.
Reporter: With his bare hands?
Pirro: We believe it’s his bare hands, both hands.
Reporter: Do you believe it was damaged before?
Pirro: He damaged it!… pic.twitter.com/LmtTZueKZU

“Was this part of the goal specifically? Was the sealant already partially removed, or did he rip it back? He just described it in detail, because he maintains that it looks the same as it did before he arrived. That’s his–” the reporter asked.
“I’m not going to get into the evidence, but what I told you is what our witnesses saw and experienced,” Pirro responded. “There was an effort, a violent effort, to rip up the sealant from the bottom of the pool. And irrespective of whether or not, you know, we think that there is some situation that preceded it, we can state and prove beyond a reasonable doubt that he caused damage, and that damage is over a thousand dollars.”
The reporter then questioned how prosecutors can prove that the damage exceeded a thousand dollars, with Pirro responding that this would be covered during the trial.
Continuing to question the case, the reporter replied, “Did he have any tools, or is it just his bare hands?”
“Right now we believe it’s his bare hands, both hands,” Pirro answered.
“Does that indicate, in your belief, that it was probably damaged before, or do you believe that he… but do you think it had already been damaged before?” the reporter pressed.
“He damaged the pool. He damaged this pool,” Pirro said, and when the reporter further defended the suspect by suggesting the pool was already damaged, she snapped, “Well, good — I’m glad you’ve got that evidence. Come on in the grand jury, you can testify.”
And if that exchange wasn’t bad enough, a fellow media propagandist was immediately shut down by Pirro when questioning the prosecution of vandals by referencing the Jan. 6 protest at the U.S. Capitol.
Pirro asked, “Are you really telling me about Jan. 6?”
When the shameless reporter replied in the affirmative, she fired back, “I’m not! OK, who’s next? Not you.”
🚨 LMFAO! REPORTER: How do you square charging this man [for vandalizing the Reflecting Pool] when this same DOJ pardoned over 1,000 Jan. 6 rioters?
US ATTORNEY JEANINE PIRRO: “Are you REALLY telling me about Jan. 6?!”
REPORTER: Yes!
