Podcaster causes quite the stir when he calls Kamala Harris ‘the original Hawk Tuah girl’

Opining on how Vice President Kamala Harris “got her start in politics,” one podcaster’s suggestive take during a Fox Business appearance was deemed “harsh.”

“…she’s the original ‘Hawk Tuah girl.'”

From California prosecutor to the Democratic Party’s 2024 presumptive presidential nominee, a career of falling upward brought Harris the closest she has ever been to being the leader of the free world. Voiced concerns over the potential of a coup aside, podcaster Alec Lace’s appearance on “The Bottom Line” had a provocative take on the opportunity that referenced a viral video.

“There’s the DEI press secretary telling you that the DEI vice president is the future of the party here. And so the future looks kinda dim for the Democrats, here,” he told co-hosts Dagen McDowell and Sean Duffy referencing widely-held opinions that Harris and White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre held their positions because of race, gender, and in the latter’s case, sexual orientation. “But, this is no shocker either.”

Lace didn’t stop there as he dredged up Harris’ relationship with then-California Assembly Speaker Willie Brown with a comment that had him asking on social media, “Did I go too far on FOX News calling Kamala Harris the OG Hawk Tuah girl or am I right over the target?”

“Kamala Harris — she’s the original ‘Hawk Tuah girl.’ That’s the way she got where she is and the party’s going downhill if it’s in her hands,” he said prompting McDowell to respond, “That was tough. That was, that was, that was harsh.”

Of course, despite the indignation from pearl-clutchers on the left who remained offended by the premise that Harris was a diversity hire despite President Joe Biden’s own declaration that he was specifically seeking a black woman to be his running mate in 2020, social media users were beside themselves at the comparison to the young woman who’d gone viral for her answer during a man-on-the-street interview in Nashville, Tennessee.

“You gotta give it that hawk tuah, spit on that thang, you get me?” she’d responded when asked about sexual activity.

As previously covered, Harris landed lucrative appointments in California while dating Brown, who was married but separated from his wife, before their relationship ended just before he was elected mayor of San Francisco.

Former President Donald Trump made a nod to her career advancement during his Independence Day Truth Social post that read in part, “She did poorly in the Democrat Nominating process, starting out at Number Two, and ending up defeated and dropping out, even before getting to Iowa, but that doesn’t mean she’s not a ‘highly talented’ politician! Just ask her Mentor, the Great Willie Brown of San Francisco.”

Not everyone was outraged by the comparison, nor was Lace alone as Blaze TV host Jason Whitlock had taken to referencing the video when discussing Harris. He captioned an image of the vice president with her husband and his children Wednesday morning, “This is the black man’s line in the sand, according to Van Jones. We must protect Hawk Tuah at all costs! This feels like the warmup act for Michelle at the convention.”
