Poll shows Trump with CRUSHING 20 point lead over Biden on economy, 25 point swing on competency

According to a new national NBC News poll, former President Donald Trump is CRUSHING current President Joe Biden in every way imaginable.

For example, he’s leading Biden on the economy by a whopping 20 points and on immigration by 30 points. Those are admittedly huge numbers.

But it gets better.

“The poll also shows Trump holding a 16-point advantage over Biden on being competent and effective, a reversal from 2020, when Biden was ahead of Trump on this quality by 9 points before defeating him in that election,”  NBC News notes.

Ouch.

Meanwhile, the president’s job approval rating has declined to the lowest ever recorded by NBC News: 37 percent.

In addition, fewer than 3 in 10 voters approve of the way he’s handling the war between Israel and Hamas.

NBC News reluctantly admits in its report that “[a]ll together, these numbers explain why the poll shows Trump leading Biden by 5 points among registered voters in a hypothetical 2024 general-election matchup, 47% to 42%.”

Indeed.

The numbers also explain why Democrats are freaking out and crying that the poll is fake, attacking journalists who share the poll, and/or dubiously even blaming the poll’s results on the media being too right-wing.

Notice what the latter leftist wrote: “You know this poll is rigged because your coverage of the economy is consistently negative.”

FYI, NBC News is one of the most glaringly partisan, left-wing, pro-Biden networks in America, second only to MSNBC.

Moreover, cry as leftists might, there’s no changing the FACTS.

“What is most concerning is the erosion of Biden’s standing against Trump compared to four years ago,” Democrat pollster Jeff Horwitt said. “On every measure compared to 2020, Biden has declined. Most damning, the belief that Biden is more likely to be up to the job — the chief tenet of the Biden candidacy — has evaporated.”

Poof!

“It is hard to imagine a more difficult set of numbers before a re-election,” Republican pollster Bill McInturff added.

The bad news is, as Horwitt noted, that there’s still plenty of time for Biden to win over voters: “Biden can take solace that we are in January and not October 2024. At this stage in prior cycles, attitudes can change.”

It’s true. At this time in Trump’s presidency, he was flying high, preparing to be reelected to office. But then the COVID pandemic hit and he wound up losing the 2020 election to Biden.

Plus, there’s a catch to the NBC News poll. The same poll found that were Trump to be found guilty and convicted of a felony offense before Election Day, then Biden would defeat him 45 percent to 43 percent.

The good news is it’s not clear that any of Trump’s cases will go to trial before Election Day.

“[W]ith Election Day nearing and his federal election case now removed from the court’s calendar, it’s unclear how many of the four cases against Trump will wrap up before voters head to the polls,” Forbes reported on Friday.

“Trump faces criminal charges in four cases: two federal cases—one brought for trying to overturn the 2020 election and another for retaining White House documents after leaving office—plus state cases in Georgia for his post-2020 election efforts, and in New York for alleged ‘hush-money’ payments made during his 2016 campaign,” according to Forbes.
