Polling on genders going the wrong way for radical left; maybe it’s time to change tactics?

Public Religion Research Institute conducted a recent poll and found that the number of Americans who believe there are only two genders is growing — even among Democrats.

The findings perhaps register the growing disgust over the cult of transgenderism being forced on society at every turn.

“In the past several years, views have shifted on gender identities,” the polling outfit reported. “In 2021, nearly six in ten Americans (59%) said there are only two gender identities, man and woman, and 40% of Americans believed there are many gender identities. The following year, in 2022, 62% of Americans believed that there are only two gender identities, and more than one-third (35%) said there are many gender identities. This divide slightly increased again in 2023, with 65% saying there are two gender identities and 34% saying there are many.”

The survey results reinforce the idea that the divide between right and left is vast, but even here more Democrats are coming around to accept reality.

“The discourse on the gender binary is highly polarized along partisan lines,” PRRI noted. “Around nine in ten Republicans believe there are only two genders (87% in 2021, 90% in 2023). Democrats, by contrast, are less likely to believe that there are only two genders (38% in 2021, 44% in 2023). Independents have become more likely in the past few years to say that there are only two genders (60% in 2021, 66% in 2023).

Overall, the poll found that 35% of Americans say they are comfortable if a friend uses gender-neutral pronouns, while 40% say they are uncomfortable; 23% say it wouldn’t matter either way. But again, when broken down by party the gap is wide: 65% of Republicans say they’d be uncomfortable, while 38% of independents and 24% of Democrats say as much.

As for the issue of indoctrinating children in public schools on queer theory, the poll results are less encouraging — especially when broken down by generation:

Pradheep Shanker is a radiologist who focuses on health policy and a National Review contributor, and he said in response to the survey, “If you are an LGBTQ activist and look at this logically, you have to ask yourself if your strategies are failing.”

Still, there are those who buy into the insanity, convinced that they are approaching it from an intellectual standpoint:
