Poor Dems are no match for Treasury Sec. Scott Bessent

Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent went before both chambers of Congress this week, and it quickly became clear that Democrats were not up to the task of handling the Trump official’s wit and sarcasm.

Taking the best Democrats have to offer, Bessent remained unruffled, as seen in this Senate Banking Committee exchange with Sen. Jack Reed (D-RI).

“Being the senior person here, your behavior to some of my colleagues is absolutely childish,” the Democratic senator said.

“Thank you senator. Good to see you,” a composed Bessent quickly answered.

There was also an interesting exchange with Sen. Elizabeth Warren over Trump’s Fed chair nominee, with Bessent referencing a joke Trump made about the Democrat he frequently calls “Pocahontas”:

In the clip below, Warren proved that she was no match for Bessent while discussing the affordability crisis:

Warren’s name came up during a humorous exchange with Sen. Chris Van Hollen (D-MD):

During Bessent’s time before the House, 87-year-old Democratic dinosaur Rep. Maxine Waters (D-CA) asked have someone “shut him up” as he was pointing out, “Ten to twenty million immigrants took the housing stock of working Americans…”

Waters got a gracious smile and a reminder to “maintain some level of dignity,” for her troubles.

While being screamed at by Rep. Stephen Lynch (D-MA), Bessent asked sarcastically, “Could you speak a little louder please?! I can’t hear you!”

Speaking of composure, Rep. Greg Meeks (D-NY) lost his while being thoroughly outclassed by the Treasury secretary, resorting to yelling like a banshee:
