Potential Biden replacement caught on hot mic: ‘I don’t like where we are’

Illinois Gov. JB Pritzker, a Democrat, was caught on a hot mic sharing a rather pessimistic opinion about the current state of the presidential race.

“We’re just going to keep fighting. I don’t know what to say,” Pritzker said. “We’re going to do what we have to do. I don’t like where we are.”

According to NBC Chicago, a spokesperson for the governor confirmed that he was discussing the presidential race and more specifically “the discussion surrounding Biden’s status as the Democratic candidate.”

While this is a growing sentiment among Democrats following President Joe Biden’s abysmal debate performance, Pritzker has been a vocal Biden supporter and is among the names being floated around as a potential replacement should Biden choose to bow out of the race.

When asked if he would consider the position by reporters Pritzker wouldn’t deny it, saying he refuses to “engage in hypotheticals” and emphatically claiming he’s “all in” for the president.

“I’m not engaging in hypotheticals. You can see that I’m all in for Joe Biden. Joe Biden is going to be the nominee of the Democratic Party. I’m gonna go out there and wholeheartedly campaign for him.”
