The Democrats are raging mad that the Trump administration has frozen close to half a trillion dollars in wasteful spending courtesy of the recommendations of the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE).
Though President Donald Trump has only been in office a bit over 100 days, his administration has already frozen/withheld $436.87 billion in wasteful, congressionally approved funding, according to Reuters.
This includes $42 billion frozen State Department payouts and $62 billion Transportation Department payouts.
Democrats are furious.

“Just a hundred days into office, President Trump and Elon Musk are continuing their unprecedented assault on our nation’s spending laws, and it is families, small businesses, and communities in every part of the country who are paying the price,” Sen. Patty Murray and Rep. Rosa DeLauro said in a joint statement.
“No American president has ever so flagrantly ignored our nation’s spending laws or so brazenly denied the American people investments they are owed,” they added.
The so-called “investments” are actually huge wastes of the American people’s money. Consider, for instance, the $2 million that the Air Force earmarked for “holistic DEI transformation and training” or the nearly billion dollars the federal government wasted on a 10-question survey.
The hilarious irony is that the Democrats have unwittingly provided the American people with a quick and convenient tool useful for tracking how the Trump administration is trimming wasteful spending.
Dems have specifically released a tracker “detailing how President Trump is freezing at least $430 billion in federal funding.”

“Today, we’re publishing a new tracker to shine a light on President Trump’s vast, illegal funding freeze and how it is hurting people in every zip code in America,” Murray and DeLauro said in their statement.
“It’s time for President Trump and Elon Musk to end this unprecedented and dangerous campaign to block funding for cancer research, infrastructure projects, disaster relief, and so much more,” they added.
Available for review here, the tracker lists dozens of examples of spending that Democrats want but that is clearly wasteful, including $10 million “to help prepare immigrants for naturalization.”
Even worse is the $250 million in wasteful spending that was set aside for the ostensible “delivery of independent and impartial news and information to millions around the world.”
As any conservative who’s ever listened to NPR or PBS can attest to, there’s no such thing as “independent and impartial news” delivered by the government. Such forms of so-called “news” are always biased.
Next up is the $241 million in wasteful spending that was set aside “to help manufacturers complete Environmental Product Declarations to help spur market demand for low-carbon construction materials and products, which have less climate impact.”
In other words, it was nearly a quarter billion dollars that was to be used to try to get people to buy climate-friendly crap they don’t actually want.
The fact that Democrats are now unintentionally promoting the government spending cuts that President Trump ran on and has since achieved has some conservatives laughing in ecstasy.
“So let me get this straight. Trump ran on cutting government spending, explicitly with the help of Elon Musk. Trump won election and got Musk to create DOGE to cull out wasteful spending and corrupt programs. In 100 days, they managed to find $435+ billion dollars in non-essential spending … and Democrats want to promote that?” Ed Morrissey writes for Hot Air.
Yep …
“Yes, please post a running tracker of all the spending Trump has cut! ” he continues. “Taxpayers hate that almost as much as they hate having a politician do what he promised during an election! Do Democrats have any connection to the electorate at all these days?”
Not even slightly.
