A beautiful 22-year-old pregnant model named Samya Gill, who wanted out of crime-ridden Washington, DC, was gunned down in broad daylight, living just long enough to go through an emergency C-section so that her daughter could be brought into the world.

Celia Gill, the young woman’s mother, said that her daughter wanted to flee the city because of violence but wound up becoming a victim of it instead last week.
“Because of the violence, because of things that we see on social media about people being just gunned down in a city, she wanted to move to another state,” Gill’s mother told “Fox & Friends First” on Tuesday.
Police have grainy photos of two suspects who are still at large. A manhunt is underway to find them.
Gill was eight months pregnant. She was sitting in her car in a school zone with a male companion when two men opened fire on them with rifles, spraying the victims with at least 14 rounds. The man, who is the baby’s father, Travis Foster, was treated for non-life-threatening injuries according to People. The baby, who is named Zailey, is in critical condition. A Glock .45 was recovered from the crime scene, according to a police report.

Although police seem to believe the shooting was a “targeted” attack based on surveillance video, the mother is “absolutely” certain that her daughter was just in the wrong place at the wrong time. She doesn’t think it had anything to do with gangs or criminal affiliations.
“I still need answers,” Ceilia Gill asserted. “Samya was loved by everybody. She was just a bubbly person. I can’t imagine who would want to do that to her.”
The new grandmother was able to visit her granddaughter and told Fox & Friends, “She looks just like Samya. It was hard seeing her just hooked up to all of those machines. She’s so strong, and she’s coming along.” She will raise the child in her daughter’s stead.

She noted that the baby was not struck by a bullet but remained in critical condition and was doing “a little better today,” according to Law and Crime.
A GoFundMe has been set up by Samya Gill’s family to help with expenses to care for the baby’s care as medical bills are piling up.
“This is really devastating for my family, and a huge financial burden. We are asking if there’s anything you all can donate, we’d greatly appreciate it. There is no amount too big or too small. I just need support [for] Baby Zailey,” the description reads in part.
Celia Gill is having a hard time dealing with her daughter’s death that occurred just before noon last Thursday. She says it has been “really hard” to process.
“It’s really hard… just thinking about her, just thinking about everything that she had to suffer,” the mother remarked.
Police Assistant Chief of Patrol Services Andre Wright called the crime a “brazen act” while speaking at a press conference last week. “You can’t do something as heinous as this, and the community not know something about it,” he contended.

Security camera footage caught the suspects fleeing the murder scene in their vehicle. Police are offering a $25,000 reward for any information leading to the capture and conviction of those responsible for the killing.
