President Donald Trump’s most prolific midnight rants are being driven by the whims of a 30-something, “lovestruck” aide.
Natalie Harp, the president’s executive assistant, frequently “brings the president stacks of printed-out draft social-media posts for his approval,” according to the Wall Street Journal.
After receiving approval, Harp logs into the president’s Truth Social — usually during late-night hours — to publish approved posts.
It was Harp who, at the president’s direction, posted the infamous “Lion King” spoof that depicted former President Barack Hussein Obama and his wife, former First Lady Michelle Obama, as apes.
It was also she who posted the infamous photo/meme depicting the president as Christian savior Jesus Christ.

Just this past Monday, the president published 55 Truth Social posts between 10:14 pm and 1:12 am.
“The messages, mostly reposts from other accounts, falsely claimed that the 2020 election was stolen, aired frustrations from anonymous social-media users that Democrats hadn’t been indicted by the Justice Department and called for the arrest of former President Barack Obama,” the Journal notes.
It’s not clear how many were posted by Harp and how many were posted directly by the president.
What’s known is that some in the White House see Harp as a problem. For one, she usually doesn’t share her post ideas with anybody else, including the chief of staff or national security aides.
“Harp has told others she works for Trump and only listens to him,” according to the Journal.
The other problem is that Harp might be in love with the president.
The New York Times reported in 2024 how Harp had a history of leaving the president affectionate personal notes that read as follows:
- “You are all that matters to me.”
- “I don’t ever want to let you down.”
- “I want to bring you joy.”
Then last year, journalist Michael Wolff published an excerpt from his latest book to Vanity Fair magazine that revealed that Harp’s “fixation” with the president was an “open secret” in the White House, and that many staff members found it “discomfiting.”
In addition, the “aggressiveness of her attention” eventually piqued the interest of the Secret Service.
“The Secret Service, with her letters in their possession, was now noting the strangeness of her behavior,” Wolff wrote.
He further noted that as Harp’s “obsession with Trump and her lovestruck adulation” became more and more obvious, she became even more central to his posting operations.
“She had … become the keeper of the ‘Truth’ phone,” he wrote. “That is, she was wholly in charge of the Trump posts—that is, they were her posts. Sometimes as many as a hundred a day. Old articles, things not remotely relevant or germane, replies to comments from random people, re-postings of out-of-date polls.”

In November of 2024, senior staff members of the president’s then-campaign dismissed Wolff’s reporting, telling others to “completely disregard whatever nonsense he eventually publishes.”
“Consider this our blanket response to whatever he writes,” they added.
In a statement to the Journal, White House Communications Director Steven Cheung also appeared to dismiss any concerns about her.
“Truth Social has never been hotter, and it’s because President Trump offers his unfiltered and direct thoughts to the American people, without the biased media taking him out of context,” Cheung said.
“We don’t discuss internal deliberations of how the process works, but no other social-media tool has been more effective than Truth,” he added.
BizPac Review previously reported in 2024 that Harp is known as the “human printer” because she always carries with her a portable printer, including paper and batteries.
“[W]ith her portable printer at the ready, Harp is constantly around Trump—whether she’s sitting close to the defense table in the Manhattan courthouse on weekdays or riding the links with Trump on Sundays in Florida,” according to The Bulwark.

Besides being Trump’s “human printer,” she’s also his news gatekeeper who decides what he sees and doesn’t see.
“If you want the president to see something, the best route is Natalie,” an unnamed source told The Bulwark. “Don’t underestimate her importance.”
