Pritzker blasted for ‘flat out’ lie after Bret Baier whips out crime map

Illinois Gov. JB Pritzker got caught in a “flat out” lie during an appearance on Wednesday on Fox News’ “Special Report,” and Elon Musk wasted little time in calling the Democrat out for the fib.

Pritzker, who is worth an estimated $3.9 billion, was asked by anchor Bret Baier, “Why does Chicago have the highest murder rate of all the big cities?”

“We’re not in the top 30, in terms of our murder rate,” the governor replied. “Our murder rate has been cut in half over the last four years, and every year it’s gone down by double digits, and if you look at all of the violent crime over the last four years–”

Baier produced a map showing that Chicago leads the nation.

“Here’s a map. Most populous U.S. cities. 17.47 per 100,000 population. Chicago is number one over Philadelphia, Houston, Dallas, San Antonio, Phoenix, Los Angeles, New York, and San Diego.”

“Look, you can pull statistics up–,” Pritzker deferred, before Baier shot back, “No, no, no, these are murders!”

“I’m explaining to you that our murder rate has been cut in half, and very importantly, Bret, you gotta hear this, very importantly, we’ve been doing the things that are necessary to bring crime down,” the Democrat countered, before claiming that President Donald Trump is “doing the opposite.”

Pritzker continued a long-standing campaign of denigrating ICE agents, breaking from previous comparisons to Nazis to essentially call them racists.

“They’re literally going after black and brown people because of the color of their skin,” he claimed.

The governor created the Illinois Accountability Commission to track ICE and U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers and document “unlawful attacks” by agents tasked with enforcing U.S. immigration laws.

On that note, Attorney General Pam Bondi appeared on Fox News’ “Jesse Waters Primetime” to say she will “charge” those who impede ICE efforts to enforce the law.

Here’s a quick sampling of responses to the story, as seen on X:
