‘Promises, promises…’ Cher declares she WILL leave U.S. this time if Trump wins

Another presidential election looming in which it looks like Donald Trump may be president again has set fear into the hearts of lefties like Cher.

The 77-year-old entertainer is once again making promises she likely won’t keep as she threatened – again – to leave the United States if former President Trump recaptures the White House in the 2024 election.

This is nothing new for Cher who infamously announced in 2016 that if then-nominee Trump won the presidency, “I’m gonna have to leave the planet.”

She did nothing of the sort, however, choosing to remain in California where she consistently spewed her hatred of Trump. In a new interview, she reveals that she “almost got an ulcer” when the real-estate mogul did, indeed, get elected in 2016.

“I almost got an ulcer the last time,” she told The Guardian in an interview published Wednesday. “If he gets in, who knows? This time I will leave [the country].”

The award-winning pop icon was a strong supporter of President Joe Biden, campaigning for him during the 2020 presidential election.

Cher’s hatred of Trump is well-documented, with many of the attacks being unleashed on social media in all-caps rants and in interviews. She slammed the then-president once as a “f—ing traitor,” and said in a 2018 interview, “But I don’t know if I’ll see it in my lifetime, because Trump has done so much damage and I’m not sure people really understand how deep the damage goes.”

She was still raging against him in 2020, hoping in one tweet that “the ground opens” underneath while he’s giving a speech at Gettysburg “and we never see him again.”

If recent polls are any indication, Trump could be well on his way to securing the GOP nomination. The former president is polling at 57 percent in a FiveThirtyEight analysis, far ahead of his closest rival, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, who is in second place with 13.9 percent.

But Cher’s empty threats only stirred up deserved backlash on social media where many offered to help her pack.
