Protected by ‘sanctuary state,’ an Illegal immigrant is charged with rape and murder of 2-year-old

Virginia Governor Abigail Spanberger is facing backlash because of the horrific actions of an illegal alien child rapist and murderer.

Thanks to Spanberger, Virginia is a “sanctuary state” where Mexican national Raul Genesis Ortiz Moran, 29, was allowed to run free. While running free, he established a relationship with a Virginia woman with a 2-year-old daughter.

Then on July 4, he, the woman, and the girl showed up at the Goochland County Sheriff’s Office seeking help.

“The baby wasn’t conscious at the time,” Louisa County Sheriff Donnie Lowe told local station WTVR. “They tried to revive the baby along with the fire rescue that showed up immediately after, but their attempts were unsuccessful.”

A subsequent investigation was launched after deputies noticed injuries to the child’s head and body.

Lt. Chuck Love of the Louisa County Sheriff’s Office told The Roanoke Times that after interviewing both Moran and the deceased girl’s mother, they quickly got a strong idea of what had occurred.

“However, Love said, the investigators initially lacked sufficient forensic evidence to obtain the felony warrants they were seeking,” according to the Times.

They needed more time to investigate and build evidence, so they did the next best thing — they contacted U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).

“We were afraid that he was going to bolt, so we called ICE, and yeah, they picked him up,” Lowe said.

After Moran was scooped up by ICE, he was eventually charged by the Louisa County Sheriff’s Office with sexual battery and second-degree murder.

“This is an unimaginable tragedy involving the death of a young child,” Lowe said in a statement. “Our detectives have worked tirelessly to thoroughly investigate this case and ensure those responsible are held accountable. Our thoughts and prayers remain with everyone affected by this heartbreaking incident.”

According to the Times, Moran also has a history of illegal driving.

“Court records show that on July 2, two days before the girl’s death, he was stopped in Hanover County and charged with driving without a license, a repeated offense,” the Times notes. “Records show he had twice previously been convicted of driving without a license.”

Anger is now being directed at Spanberger for having allowed this creep to run free.

“This monster sexually assaulted and murdered a 2-year-old girl in Virginia,” Homeland Security Assistant Secretary Lauren Bis said in a statement. “Thanks to the cooperation of our local law enforcement partners, this killer is off the streets and will face justice for his crimes.”

“This horrific tragedy was completely avoidable, because this illegal alien should have never been in our country. Governor Spanberger’s sanctuary policies have made Virginia a hotbed for illegal alien crime,” she added.

One critic even called for the governor’s office to be raided.

“Virginia Gov’r Spanberger has already broken many laws that the ‘sanctuary’ liberal label has no legal standing to override,” the critic wrote on social media. “It’s time to raid her office, her DA’s office & jails to recover foreign criminals & evidence.”

“The Democrat Party’s Evil has no bounds. A toddler is dead, raped by an illegal foreigner & Spanberger smiles as does NYC Mayor Mamdani to telegraph their empty souls & corrupt schemes. They steal our taxes, harbor criminals & condone rape & murder,” they added.

“Abby wants people like Raul Ortiz Moran, an illegal alien, who has been charged with second-degree murder and aggravated sexual assault in connection to the death of a two-year-old girl in Louisa County, Virginia, to remain in our Commonwealth,” another critic warned.
