Protesters charge the stage, interrupt Fox News’ town hall with DeSantis

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis was making his case to voters a week before the Iowa caucuses at Tuesday’s Fox News town hall when he was briefly interrupted by left-wing protesters who charged the stage.

The GOP presidential candidate was answering a question from the audience about abortion when the disturbance occurred as the left-wing miscreants from the Sunrise Movement disrupted his response, unfurling a black and gold banner and chanting “No oil money.”

The governor cooly brushed off the brief disruption, “You know, you live and you learn with these people, right?” DeSantis said, laughing. “Alright. Alright. Well, you guys– that was a mistake. You guys didn’t get that one right. Ok.”

After the incident, the DeSantis campaign posted the video to X, formerly known as Twitter, stating “Ron DeSantis roasts leftist disruptors chanting ‘NO OIL MONEY!,”

During the hourlong event that was broadcast live by the conservative network, the Sunshine State Republican showed a command for the issues with an impressive performance at the Des Moines town hall moderated by Fox News hosts Bret Baier and Martha MacCallum.

At one point he responded to a question on the Biden regime’s Gestapo tactics in going after political adversaries including parents at school board meetings by vowing to fire those responsible.

He also summed up his candidacy.

“Donald Trump’s running for his issues. Nikki Haley’s running for her donors’ issues, I’m running for your issues. Your family’s issues and to turn this country around, and that’s my sole focus,” DeSantis told the audience.

“And I think you can see an indication of who represents the biggest threat to the current order of things in Washington because be need a change agent in Washington,” he said. “Rearranging the deck chairs on the Titanic isn’t going to work.”

“They have spent more money attacking me than all the other Republicans have faced combined. They’ve spend more money attacking me than Biden and Trump combined in this election cycle,” the governor stated, arguing that he is the candidate best equipped to take on the corrupt establishment and they know it.

“It raises the issue for Republicans: ‘What do we want the 2024 election to be about?’” DeSantis also said, “If Donald Trump is the nominee, the election is going to be about legal issues, criminal trials, Jan. 6. It’ll be a referendum on him.”

The far-left group took credit for circumventing security and interrupting the town hall.

“Tonight, we disrupted DeSantis’s FOX Town Hall,” the Sunrise Movement posted to X. “DeSantis doesn’t care that the climate crisis is killing us because he’s too busy drowning in oil money bribes to care about our lives. We won’t let him get away with it.”
