Former President Joe Biden’s handlers were so worried that he would be unable to pass a cognitive test that they nixed the idea even as public doubt about his mental condition was growing.
According to the New York Times, the octogenarian career politician’s top aides “harbored deep fears about how voters viewed his age and mental acuity” and while they were confident that Biden would pass the test, feared that submitting to it would only “raise more questions” about his age at a time when he was seeking a second term.

“At the same time, Mr. Biden’s longtime doctor, Kevin O’Connor, had told aides he would not take the 81-year-old president’s political standing into consideration when treating him,” the Times reported, citing the upcoming book titled “2024: How Trump Retook the White House and the Democrats Lost America.”
They ultimately decided against it in a discussion that took place last February, the month that Special Counsel Robert Hur released his bombshell report on the probe into Biden’s mishandling of classified documents which damningly described him as “a sympathetic, well-meaning, elderly man with a poor memory” who was too far gone to put before a jury, declining to prosecute.
Biden was apoplectic over the language in the Hur report, hastily holding a press conference in which he angrily denied his declining mental prowess while referring to Egypt’s president as the president of Mexico, reinforcing the special counsel’s observation. “My memory is fine,” the disgraced ex-POTUS declared.

The book is written by a trio of establishment media reporters, including the NYT’s own Tyler Pager, the Washington Post’s Isaac Arnsdorf, and Josh Dawsey of the Wall Street Journal. It is the latest on the fall of the Biden regime as the media tries to absolve itself of covering up the disgraced ex-leader’s obvious senility, a gross dereliction of their duty at best, or a conspiracy to defraud the American people at worst.
The blame game over who covered up for the deteriorating Biden is in full swing with professional liar and former White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki, who scored a job at MSNBC after quitting as his top spox, claiming that she didn’t notice anything was wrong with her ex-boss until she watched the now-infamous CNN debate, the moment when it could no longer be denied that Biden’s mind was mush.
During an appearance on Semafor’s “Mixed Signals” podcast, Psaki told co-hosts Max Tani and Ben Smith that it was “dangerous” for anyone to suggest that there was a cover-up of the former president’s mental decay.
Jen Psaki claims the first time she suspected Joe Biden’s mental decline was the infamous debate with President Trump.

“I never saw the person on that debate stage,” she insisted of the CNN debate that would doom Biden. “I was in the Oval Office every day. I’m not a doctor. Aging happens quickly.”
“‘Cover-up’ is a very loaded term,” Psaki said. “People use that term as related to Watergate or the covering up of not sharing public information about a war.”
“I think it’s a bit of a dangerous term,” the former top Biden spinmeister said, adding, “Maybe the media missed a lot.”
“In retrospect, there were probably major stories missed. But if you don’t know what’s happening privately,” Psaki told the hosts. “It’s always easy to play Monday-morning quarterback. There were major stories and moments missed.”
According to the Amazon description of the three reporters’ upcoming book: “They reveal in unrivaled detail how Joe Biden and his team brushed off concerns about his age, ignored polling numbers, and held off the next generation of eager Democratic hopefuls—even as Biden was dealing with his own special counsel investigation and the trial of his son Hunter. After his disastrous debate performance forced him to withdraw, Biden anointed Vice President Kamala Harris as the candidate and tasked her with running the shortest presidential campaign in modern U.S. history.”
