Putin says a ‘smart and experienced’ Trump will find a ‘solution’ to Ukraine conflict

Russian President Vladimir Putin offered his take on Democrats in America and their ends justify the means politics, and did so while praising President-elect Donald J. Trump.

And while that will be enough for the propaganda press in the U.S. to regurgitate its Russia, Russia, Russia narrative, Putin also sounded like a man who may be ready to bring the Ukraine conflict to an end while speaking with reporters in Kazakhstan on Thursday.

Putin was critical of President Biden for “escalating the conflict”, saying he created “additional difficulties” by giving Ukraine permission to fire longer-range American missiles at targets deep inside Russia, but expressed confidence that when Trump takes office he will find a “solution” to the problems caused by “the lunatics” now in the White House.

“President Trump, a smart and experienced person, will come up with a solution, especially given that he has gone through quite an ordeal of fighting to reclaim the Oval Office,” the Russian president said, after suggesting that the Biden administration may be trying to “make life as hard as possible” for the incoming Trump administration.

He commented on the failed assassination attempts against Trump, opining that the U.S. president is still “not safe” from attempts on his life.

“Well, probably just like me, you are amazed not by the fact that absolutely uncivilized means had been used against Trump all the way up to assassination attempts, numerous assassination attempts,” Putin said. “And I think he’s not safe even now. The history of the United States has known many such cases, but I think President Trump is a smart person and a cautious one, I hope.”

The Russian president also commented on the unprecedented persecution Trump has endured, essentially saying Democrats are worse than “gangsters.”

“What amazed me most was that in fighting him, not only Trump was subjected to humiliating court procedures, accusations, and so on, but his family was attacked as well,” Putin said. “His children were attacked. Gangsters don’t do this in Russia. When criminal gangs fight, they don’t touch children and women. It’s men who fight among themselves. But those guys stooped as low as that.”

“I think this looks so bad that it only reaffirms, reconfirms how low the political system of the United States has fallen,” he added.

Putin threatened to use more of Russia’s medium-range ballistic missile, called Oreshnik, according to CNN — the missiles, which fire multiple warheads at once and can deliver a nuclear payload, were used to attack Ukraine’s Dnipro region last week.

“We will use the means at our disposal,” he warned. “We do not exclude the use of Oreshnik against the (Ukrainian) military, against military industrial facilities, or against decision-making centers, including in Kyiv, bearing in mind that the Kyiv authorities today continue to attempt to strike our vital facilities.”
