Questioning of DePape reveals hammer attack suspect’s mindset: ‘When I left my house, I went to fight tyranny’

On Friday, the San Francisco Police Department released a recording of Paul Pelosi’s attacker, David DePape, being interrogated, and it was a wild ride from beginning to end.

Indeed, from the sounds of it, DePape apparently envisions himself as some sort of freedom fighter battling modern tyranny.

At one point, the interrogator asked, “Was there a reason [for the attack]? Did you feel the Pelosis did something to you?”

In response, DePape said, “Not me specifically to me. But to the American public honestly. She was the leader of the pack.”

This prompted the interrogator to ask “how so,” to which DePape replied by embarking on a rant about the Democrat Party.

“F–king liars. It’s insane. She has to be like….(unintelligible) with Trump being in office. What they did was so far beyond. It’s just crazy…. It originates with Hillary, but Pelosi ran the lie, day in and day out. The person on TV lying every day was Pelosi,” he said.

“This is a record-breaking crime spree, the Democratic Party. They are criminals. They were submitting fake evidence to spy on rival campaigns….yeah, Trump. …It’s an endless f–king crime spree.. until they were able to steal the election,” he added.

The interrogator asked him about his intentions next.

“Well, I was going to basically hold her hostage. And I was going to talk to her,” DePape replied, adding that he had no regrets about what he did.

The interrogator then asked him why he didn’t just leave when the police arrived. That’s when DePape went into full “Founding Father” mode.

“Like the Founding Fathers. It’s like they fought the British. They fought the tyranny. When I left my house, I went to fight tyranny,” he said.

By beating up a senior citizen and, worse, making every anti-tyranny freedom fighter look bad!? It doesn’t make sense, critics say:

Note what one critic wrote about DePape’s Pride and BLM flags.

This is somewhat true.

“DePape lived with a notorious local nudist in a Berkeley home, complete with a Black Lives Matter sign in the window and an LGBT rainbow flag, emblazoned with a marijuana symbol, hanging from a tree,” journalist Michael Shellenberger reported back in October.

But it’s possible the flags weren’t his property.

DePape’s interrogation video was released on the same day that bodycam footage of his arrest was also publicly released.

Watch that footage below:

Interestingly enough, Paul Pelosi’s wife, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, refuses to watch this footage.

“As you know, today there was a release of some information. I have not heard the 911 call. I have not heard the confession. I have not seen the break-in, and I have absolutely no intention of seeing the deadly assault on my husband’s life,” she told reporters.

“I won’t be making any more statements about this case as it proceeds except to again, thank people and inform them of his progress,” the House Speaker added.

The footage has inspired many more questions from critics.

For example, why was Paul Pelosi just standing there with a drink in his hand as DePape stood alongside him with a hammer in his?

Critics say it almost looks like the two — Pelosi and his attacker — were chummy.
