GOP presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy gave other Republicans a blueprint for how to handle ridiculous “gotcha” questions about race from media activists with his brilliant dismantling of a Washington Post reporter.
The quick-on-his-feet young biotech entrepreneur was taking questions at a campaign event in Iowa when the reporter came out of left field with a typically ridiculous question about whether he would condemn white supremacy and white nationalism, both of which only exist inside the minds of leftists but are constantly used to demonize conservatives.
“Do you condemn white supremacy and white nationalism,” the reporter asked.
After first inquiring about who she worked for, Ramaswamy proceeded to put on a clinic on how to handle that pathetic example of what passes for modern-era journalism.
After Steve King announced he was endorsing me, predictably a lame reporter from @WaPo tried to get me to play the game of “denouncing white supremacy,” while she refused to actually define “white supremacy” which in recent years encompasses concepts like “punctuality” & “the… pic.twitter.com/V4e01qcsqw

“Of course I condemn any form of vicious racial discrimination in this country,” he began. “But I think that the presumption of your question is fundamentally based on a falsehood that that really is the main form of racial discrimination we see in this country today.”
“Institutionalized racism is institutionalized racial discrimination that we see that doesn’t come from somehow discriminating against people on the basis of some tenet of white supremacy,” he continued. “It’s based on affirmative action. It’s based on actually discriminating against people on the color of their skin in a way that’s actually institutionalized today,” making an eloquent statement about past discrimination.
“I think that it’s, frankly, questions and framings like that, that has caused the American public to lose all trust in the mainstream media I’m sorry to say for good reason,” he said.
After he patiently answered the question, the reporter rudely snapped, “You didn’t say that you condemn white supremacy, though,” and was soon made to regret it.
“I’m not I’m not gonna recite some catechism for you,” Ramaswamy shot back, adding. “I’m against vicious racial discrimination in this country. I’m not pledging allegiance to your new religion of modern wokeism, which absolutely fits the test. I’m not going to bend the knee to your religion; I’m not going to ask you to bend to mine, and I’m not going to bend the knee to yours. But, do I condemn vicious racial discrimination? Yes, I do. Am I gonna play your silly game of gotcha? No, I’m not. And, frankly, this is why people have lost trust.”
“And I know you’re going to go print the headline tomorrow. I already know this, we already know how your game works. ‘Vivek Ramaswamy refuses to condemn white supremacy,’ because you asked a stupid question,” he added. “The reality is, I condemn vicious racism in this country, but the kind of vicious and systematic racism we see today is discrimination based on race on a very different direction.”
“You people have been responsible for diving this country to a breaking point, creating a projection of national division. I meet people on the Southside of Chicago, to meetings like this one, of every shade of melanin, multiple, from man to woman, doesn’t make a difference, who are hungry for reviving unity in this country,” Ramaswamy said, adding, “Shame on you. Look people in the eye and tell people what you’ve failed to tell them for the last five years. Own the accountability for your own failures as the media. That’s how we rebuild trust in this country. And until then, I don’t have a lot of patience to play the games.”
The enthusiastic reaction to Ramaswamy’s putting on a clinic extended beyond the people in the room who loudly applauded, spilling out onto social media where X users gave the candidate their props.
This is how it’s done. Reject the frame presented by the activist hack posing as a journalist.
Reframe, redefine, and counterattack.
Bravo @VivekGRamaswamy.

Bravo. The media are pure evil for trying to constantly pit the races against each other.
