Rashida Tlaib’s little sister leads anti-Biden effort in Michigan

President Joe Biden could be in big trouble in a key battleground state with Michigan Muslims in full revolt against his refusal to force a ceasefire in Gaza as backlash builds over his administration’s support of Israel.

The anger at the geriatric Democrat is all in the family with Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D-MI) whose younger sibling is spearheading resistance to “Genocide Joe” in the state’s primary in the hopes of sending a message that gets his attention.

Layla Elabed, the little sister of the Israel-hating “Squad” bomb-thrower is heading up the group Listen to Michigan which is urging people to vote “uncommitted” in the upcoming Democrat primary, the New York Times reported.

“If we can demonstrate our political power and discontent through as many uncommitted votes as possible in the Michigan Democratic primaries, then the hope is that Biden would feel more at risk of losing Michigan in the general election,” Elabed told the outlet.

Elabed hopes that if enough voters reject Biden it would be an encouragement for him to “shift his policy to support a cease-fire, at least” and restrict military aid to the Jewish state which is locked in a fight for its very existence with the Hamas terrorists who want it wiped from the map, like big sis says, “from the river to the sea.”

“We potentially are a powerful force,” she added. “This is us showing our discontent and returning power back to this community through the ballot box.”

“Michigan voters are sending Biden a clear message in the February 27 Democratic primary that he can count us out. We are filling out the UNCOMMITTED bubble because we strongly reject Biden’s funding war and genocide in Gaza,” the group says on its website. “Trump only won Michigan in 2016 by about 10,000 votes. Uncommitted Michigan Democrats opposed to Biden’s policy in Gaza can demonstrate that we hold his margin of victory for re-election. Biden must earn our vote through a dramatic change in policy.”

Like Tlaib, Elabed is among the Michigan Muslim community leaders who have turned on Biden over his refusal to bully Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu into pulling back before the objective of destroying the terrorists has been met.

Democrat Mayor Abdullah Hammoud of the heavily-Muslim Detroit suburb of Dearborn is also demanding a ceasefire in Gaza.

“Our immediate demand is crystal clear: the Biden Administration must call for a permanent ceasefire to a genocide it is defending and funding with our tax dollars. Dearborn residents have tirelessly protested and organized in demand of a ceasefire. As their mayor, I follow their lead,” Hammoud said on X last month.

Mayor Hammoud made headlines this week when he deployed his city’s police to guard local mosques over a Wall Street Journal piece titled “Welcome to Dearborn, America’s Jihad Capital,” claiming the panicked move was necessary because the column led to people saying mean things on social media.

“President Biden has been a successful candidate in the past by representing a broad coalition, but right now he’s not representing the vast majority of Democrats who want a ceasefire and an end to his funding of Israel’s war in Gaza,” Listen to Michigan states. “He’s not representing the young people who put him in office and turned out in the midterms — and are now out protesting his policies in the streets.”
