Renowned psychologist Jordan Peterson announces he’s leaving Canada for the U.S. and why

Canadian Psychologist Dr. Jordan Peterson has made it official, announcing on his daughter’s podcast that he has moved to the free state of Florida.

“Welcome to moving to America formally,” daughter Mikhaila Peterson Fuller said on the show.

“I guess that’s what happened, isn’t it? Is this the big announcement?” Peterson said, before laying out his reasons for moving to the United States.

“There are decided advantages to being here,” he said. “I like where I’m living a lot. It’s close to you and we have lots of work to do.”

“The issue with the College of Psychologists is very annoying, to say the least, and the new legislation that liberals are attempting to push through, bill C63 — I’ll be living in a totalitarian hell hole if that legislation passes and it could well pass. The tax situation is out of hand, the government in Canada at the federal level is incompetent beyond belief and it’s become uncomfortable for me in my neighborhood in Toronto.”

“The issue with the College of Psychologists and Behavioral Analysts of Ontario is in regard to an ongoing battle Peterson has been having with the school “going after him for the last couple years due to anonymous complaints about his social media posts,” according to the Western Standard.

Social media users were happy to hear the news, for the most part, believing Peterson could accomplish more in the U.S.

Here’s a quick sampling of responses to the story, as seen on X:
