Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene reportedly booted off of House Freedom Caucus over Boebert spat

Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) has reportedly been ousted from her spot on the House Freedom Caucus after a testy House floor exchange with her GOP colleague Rep. Lauren Boebert whom she called a “little bi**h” in a nasty spat over dueling articles of impeachment against President Joe Biden last month.

Multiple media outlets are reporting that the fiery Georgia Republican came up on the wrong end of a vote taken in late June before the holiday recess and that she stands to be booted from the group which is considered to be comprised of the most conservative members of Congress in what would be a controversial move if she has indeed been expelled.

“A vote was taken to remove Marjorie Taylor Greene from the House Freedom Caucus for some of the things she’s done,” Rep. Andy Harris (R-Md.) told Politico, saying that it was “an appropriate action.”

“As far as I know, that is the way it is,” Harris, who is on the board, told the outlet when pressed on whether it’s really a done deal for Rep. Greene, also stating, “I think the way she referred to a fellow member was probably not the way we expect our members to refer to other fellow, especially female, members.”

Video of the confrontation between the two GOP lawmakers went viral with the profane content of the heated conversation being “leaked” to the media. Greene later owned calling Boebert a “little bi**h” in a Fox News interview.

CNN reported that Harris also told reporters that “A vote was taken to remove Marjorie Taylor Greene from the House Freedom Caucus – for some of the things she’s done,” and the outlet reported that “according to Harris, Greene can no longer attend weekly meetings as they are reserved for members. This would be the first time a member has been ejected from the caucus.”

It was previously reported that the Freedom Caucus was mulling giving her the boot during a closed-door meeting after her floor fight with Boebert.

According to CNN, a defiant Greene said in a statement that she will “never change” and “In Congress, I serve Northwest Georgia first, and serve no group in Washington.”

“My America First credentials, guided by my Christian faith, are forged in steel, seared into my character, and will never change,” MTG said. “I will work with ANYONE who wants to secure our border, protect our children inside the womb and after they are born, end the forever foreign wars, and do the work to save this country.”

“The GOP has less than two years to show America what a strong, unified Republican-led congress will do when President Trump wins the White House in 2024. This is my focus, nothing else,” she added.

On Thursday, Axios reported that multiple members of the Freedom Caucus gave “conflicting stories about her membership in the group, dating back to a vote on Greene’s membership that was taken before recess.”

“As of Thursday afternoon, Greene had not received formal notification of her removal from Freedom Caucus Chair Scott Perry,” the outlet reported, citing a familiar source.

Greene hasn’t been deterred by the drama, introducing legislation on Thursday to make it more difficult for illegal aliens to vote in Washington, D.C.

“Only American citizens should be voting in American elections. That’s why I introduced the District of Columbia Voter Identification Act to safeguard election integrity by implementing mandatory photo voter ID and ensuring only American citizens are casting ballots by instituting a citizenship requirement for voter registration,” she said in a statement. “Not only will this force the DC Board of Elections to ensure only American citizens vote in our nation’s capital, this will set a standard and precedent for the rest of the country to follow.”
