House Republicans booed a leftist reporter and told her to shut up after she asked Republican nominee for House speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) a loaded 2020 question.

ABC News senior congressional correspondent Rachel Scott asked Johnson on Tuesday about “the effort to overturn the 2020 election result.”
That may sound non-sequitur but the leftist media appears to really fear the Louisiana Republican and is putting it out there that Johnson was the mastermind behind Jan. 6. The Intelligencer is running the headline, “House Speaker Nominee Mike Johnson Was the Mastermind of the January 6 Plot,” subheaded “How the Trump coup attempt propelled Johnson’s rise.”
Scott asked the skewed question during a press conference that Johnson held as he was flanked by numerous other Republicans, announcing that he would be the fourth Republican nominee for House speaker.
Johnson smilingly took questions from the media as Scott asked, “Mr. Johnson, you helped lead the effort to overturn the 2020 election result. Do you—”
Barring some calamity that I am not aware of, Mike Johnson will be the next Speaker of the House and it should be done by about 3:00pm ET.
This guy is apparently loved by everyone in the conference, we’ve just never really heard of him because he doesn’t run to cameras – he… pic.twitter.com/GzT4YtNA86

She was immediately laughed at and booed. Johnson just shook his head at her.
The person who stole the show was 80-year-old Rep. Virginia Foxx (R-NC). She was right next to Johnson at the podium alongside Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-CO) and yelled at Scott, “Shut up! Shut up!”
Johnson appeared unphased by the attempt to smear him and moved on to the next question.

As for Scott, she was very proud of herself and rushed to social media to take credit for attacking Johnson at the press conference.
“I asked Mike Johnson if he stands by his efforts to try to overturn the 2020 election. Members started boo’ing. I also asked if he would support more aid to Ukraine and Israel. ‘Go away! Go away!’ one member shouted. ‘We’re not doing any policy tonight,’ Johnson said,” the reporter wrote.

The Federalist Editor-in-Chief Mollie Hemingway had the perfect question in response to Scott’s arrogance, “Genuine, sincere question that seems in play here: How many times did you ask Democrats variations of this question while they were running their info op that the 2016 election was stolen by Trump treasonously colluding with Russia?”
“Related, how many times have you asked Hakeem Jeffries questions about his election denialism? How many times have you asked Nancy Pelosi? How many times do you bring up the fact that Democrats have routinely objected to Republican victories and refused to fully accept elections?” she asked.

Johnson received 128 votes on Tuesday after Rep. Tom Emmer (R-MN) dropped out of the race. He is reportedly liked by all factions in the Republican Party and stands a very good chance of becoming the next Speaker of the House.
“Democracy is messy sometimes, but it is our system,” Johnson told reporters after the vote during his press conference. “We are going to restore your trust in what we do here, you’re going to see a new form of government and we’re going to move this quickly. This group here is ready to govern.”
