There seems to be no end in sight to divisive rhetoric from Democrats spewing untruths about those who disagree with them and the latest attack comparing Republicans to “a domestic terrorist cell” shows the alarming level of hatred embedded in their words.
An advisor to the Democratic National Committee and the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee unloaded his inflammatory language about Republicans, following in the footsteps of others in his party – including President Joe Biden himself – who have ramped up attacks on the GOP as the critical midterm elections draw near in November.
Kurt Bardella didn’t miss a beat during an MSNBC appearance where he likened MAGA Republicans, those supportive of former President Donald Trump’s Make America Great Again agenda, to a “domestic terrorist cell.”
“The Republican Party, the MAGA Republicans, are a domestic terrorist cell operating in America,” Bardella said on MSNBC’s “Ayman Mohyeldin Reports.”

“This is a group of people who’ve decided that it’s acceptable to use violence and threats of violence to try to achieve their political means,” he continued, lacking all sense of self-awareness about his own party.
“Anytime that you have a group of people dedicated and devoted to using violent rhetoric, extreme means, to incite violence against other people that is terrorism,” he added.
According to PBS, Bardella “served as a Republican congressional staffer, as well as spokesman for Breitbart News. In 2017, he publicly defected from the Republican Party and became a Democrat.”
Bardella’s incendiary language and twisted view of Republicans were not limited to this MSNBC appearance. During another interview earlier this month with fill-in host Tiffany Cross on MSNBC’s “The ReidOut,” the DNC and DCCC adviser said the GOP is “basically a domestic terrorist cell operating within America.”
His comments came after Cross introduced the segment by arguing that there should be no distinction made between parts of the Republican Party but that all the GOP are hypocrites and inspire violence.
“Time and again, we see them say one thing and do another,” Bardella said. “They are not concerned with life. They are just concerned with trying to score cheap political points. They are concerned with trying to ‘own the libs.’ And they don’t really care what wreckage is left in their wake. They are a destructive force in American politics. They are basically a domestic terrorist cell operating in America. Their goal is to end democracy.”
These views and Bardella’s latest comments come just after Biden declared that the “extreme MAGA” wing of the Republican Party is “semi-fascist.” Even as he disparaged Americans while calling for unity, Biden seemed to make a distinction between the strong MAGA Republicans and those who are willing to play ball with Democrats, but others in his party do not see a difference.
MSNBC continues to provide a platform for the divisive and contentious rhetoric of those like Bardella and social media users wonder just where this all will lead.
