The incoming Republican chairman of a powerful congressional committee reacted to the revealing of Twitter documents showing the social media giant’s measures taken to censor the bombshell story about Hunter Biden’s laptop just weeks before the 2020 election.
On Friday evening, billionaire owner Elon Musk followed through on his promise to provide the public with a glimpse of how Twitter quashed a story that could have altered the course of history by enlisting journalist Matt Taibbi to publish the damning information to the platform.

Rep. James Comer of Kentucky vowed that once the GOP majority takes control that he will get to the bottom of what happened and that any Twitter employee who was involved in the process will have an “opportunity” to testify before the committee.
Comer appeared on Fox News where he discussed the documents which show Twitter colluding with members of the “Biden team” as well as using “extraordinary steps” to suppress the story with guest host Jason Chaffetz on Friday’s edition of “Hannity.”
Chaffetz, a former congressman who once chaired the committee, asked, “What can Congress, what can the Oversight Committee do, and where are they going to go next with this?”
The Kentucky Republican responded, “Jason, when I take your old position as chairman of the House Oversight Committee, I can promise you this, every employee at Twitter who was involved in suppressing the Hunter Biden laptop story will have an opportunity to come before Congress and explain their actions to the American people. This was a huge story.”
“When we announced the investigation of the Biden family and referenced material from the laptop, many in the mainstream media said this is just a conspiracy theory,” he added. “The mainstream media is still trying to use the old talking points the laptop is somehow Russian disinformation.”
“We know from CBS’s forensic audit the laptop is legitimate, and now we know from Elon Musk that there was correspondence between the Biden campaign and the Democrat National Committee to suppress this story,” Comer said.
“I believe this story would have had a huge impact on the presidential election, we had a very close presidential election and when you look at what’s in the laptop, it’s very concerning,” he continued. “There was no evidence ever, at any time that the laptop story wasn’t legitimate.”
Judging by Resistance Twitter’s reaction to Taibbi’s first long thread on the censorship as well as the silence from top establishment media outlets, the documents could be a game changer with one of the most damning to be released showing clear collusion between Biden’s team and operatives at the company.

Taibbi signed off on Friday with the promise that what was just released is only the appetizer.
