The tragic shooting incident that claimed the life of a female National Guard member who was gunned down by an Afghan national is raising serious questions about the vetting process for refugees from the war-torn country.
On the day before Thanksgiving, Afghan refugee Rahmanullah Lakanwal opened fire on two National Guard troops who were on duty near the White House. Tragically, 20-year-old US Army Spc. Sarah Beckstrom died from her injuries on Thursday, and 24-year-old US Air Force Staff Sgt. Andrew Wolfe remains hospitalized in critical condition.
Lakanwal was among the Afghan citizens who were allowed to enter the country without proper vetting during the Biden administration.
The D.C. shooting has brought renewed attention to another incident that took place earlier this year, when another imported Afghan was pulled over by police in Fairfax, Virginia, and opened fire after making disturbing statements about white people and the terrorist Taliban.
“Today’s the day, you f*cking dumb*ss White people” is what he said right before shooting at the police. Importing people who hate your citizens is treason and should be treated as such. Just like the guy who shot the National Guard this week, this man never should’ve been here. https://t.co/G1Gu6s7V42

On April 23, 36-year-old Jamal Wali was pulled over for speeding, and cops noticed that the 1999 Toyota Corolla that he was driving had expired tags.
Instead of complying with officer orders, the foreigner berated the police in the seconds before what would be a fatal shootout that resulted in two officers being shot and Wali ending up in the morgue.
“I should have served with f**king Taliban,” Wali shouted at officers, adding, “They’re better than you.” During his angry rant, the former Afghan interpreter who served alongside U.S. forces before coming to America in 2014 also disparaged his adopted homeland and white people.
“You f**king people brought me to this godd*mn country and I’m dying every single godd*mned day,” he ranted. “I can’t get a job. I can’t get a disability. And they took my f**king license because I can’t pay the insurance. So why are you trying to kill me?”
“Today’s the day, you f*cking dumb*ss White people,” he exclaimed before opening fire.
Independent journalist Andy Ngo posted a fuller version of the fatal traffic stop on X in May.
Police in Fairfax, Va. have released the footage showing an armed Afghan migrant trying to kill police on April 23.

“This is part of the horrendous airlift from Afghanistan. Hundreds of thousands of people poured into our Country totally unvetted and unchecked. We will fix it, but will never forget what Crooked Joe Biden and his Thugs did to our Country!” President Donald J. Trump wrote in a Thursday post to Truth Social, sharing a picture of a planeload of unvetted Afghan refugees, any of whom could potentially be the next Rahmanullah Lakanwal or Jamal Wali.

“In the wake of the disastrous Biden Withdrawal from Afghanistan, the Biden Administration justified bringing the alleged shooter to the United States in September 2021 due to his prior work with the U.S. Government, including CIA, as a member of a partner force in Kandahar, which ended shortly following the chaotic evacuation,” CIA Director John Ratcliffe said in a statement.
