President Joe Biden and former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi sparked a wave of mockery on social media when they were seen together at San Francisco’s airport.
The optics of the 81-year-old commander-in-chief stepping carefully across the tarmac with Pelosi (D-Calif.), 83, were perhaps not the image to inspire Democrats – or any Americans – concerned about another Biden term in the White House.
Biden takes no questions after landing in San Francisco, where he’s holding a few ritzy private fundraisers.

“President Joe Biden touched down at San Francisco International Airport Wednesday afternoon, on the second of a three-day fundraising swing through California,” NBC Bay Area – KNTV reported. “Biden was met by Speaker Emerita Nancy Pelosi and Mayor London Breed as he disembarked Air Force One just after 3 p.m., before boarding Marine One to leave the airport.”
Hand-in-hand, the two senior citizens made their way to Marine One in what one X user dubbed a “nursing home reunion.”
“From there, he headed to San Francisco’s Marina Green with plans to take part in two campaign events in the city. Pelosi will be co-hosting at least one of those events Wednesday,” KNTV noted. “Then, on Thursday, Biden will be at a fundraiser in Los Altos Hills, hosted by Bob Klein. Tickets for that event range from $6,600 to $100,000.”
But it seems social media could not focus on anything other than the surreal moments on the tarmac.
