Riley Gaines violently attacked by militant trans activists after speech on saving women’s sports

Former NCAA swimmer Riley Gaines was attacked and physically assaulted by a violent left-wing mob at San Francisco State University where she gave a speech on saving women’s sports, barricading herself inside a room at the school out of fear for her life.

Gaines, an outspoken advocate for preserving the integrity of women’s sports, was speaking at a Turning Point USA and Leadership Institute event on the campus on Thursday when violence erupted as it often does when leftist students disapprove of a speaker’s message.

“She told me she was hit multiple times by a guy in a dress. I was shaking. It made me that mad. It makes me sick to feel so helpless about it,” said Louis Barker, her husband who said that he spoke to Gaines during the nearly three hours that she was barricaded inside of the 3rd-floor room where she sought shelter.

“She was under police protection and was still hit by a man wearing a dress,” Barker added.

The 12-time NCAA All-American swimmer was able to record a brief video of a portion of the terrifying incident which she posted to Twitter on Thursday night.

“The prisoners are running the asylum at SFSU…I was ambushed and physically hit twice by a man. This is proof that women need sex-protected spaces,” she wrote. “Still only further assures me I’m doing something right. When they want you silent, speak louder. ️”

Another video shows Gaines being escorted away from the howling protesters by police.

Gaines has received accolades as well as the fury of cultural revolutionaries when she spoke out about the unfairness of being forced to compete against transgender Lia Thomas, a biological male whose physical superiority put real women at a severe disadvantage.

Gaines said that she “felt like I was going into the race with my hands tied behind my back” of her race against the University of Pennsylvania trans athlete.

She recently blasted Thomas after he/she was honored by “woke” sports outlet ESPN as a part of its coverage of “Celebrating Women’s History Month.”

“Lia Thomas is not a brave, courageous woman who EARNED a national title. He is an arrogant, cheat who STOLE a national title from a hardworking, deserving woman. The @ncaa is responsible,” Gaines wrote on Twitter. “If I was a woman working at ESPN, I would walk out. You’re spineless.”

Twitter reacted to the unprovoked and inexcusable attack on Gaines.

“Tonight, Riley Gaines spoke at San Francisco State University to share her personal story of competing against a biological male athlete, Lia Thomas, at the Women’s NCAA Swimming Championships last year,” Eli Bremer, Gaines’ agent, said in a statement to Fox News Digital.

“Instead of a thoughtful discussion tonight at SFSU, Riley was violently accosted, shouted at, physically assaulted, and barricaded in a room by protestors. It is stunning that in America in 2023, it is acceptable for biological male students to violently assault a woman for standing up for women’s rights,” he added.

“This will not stop Riley from boldly educating people of the dangers of biological males in women’s sports. She will continue to speak the truth against the radical left that no longer understands the difference between men and women,” Bremer said.
