Billie Joe Armstrong held up a replica head of former President Donald Trump during a concert on Monday.
The band ‘Green Day’ was playing a show at Washington D.C.’s Nationals Park when Armstrong whipped out a rubber Trump head replica with the word “Idiot” written on it. This stunt came a little over two weeks after Thomas Crooks attempted to assassinate the former president at his Butler, Pennsylvania rally.
Fans cheered as Armstrong flung the prop into the audience during the band’s song “Jesus of Suburbia,” in a scene that calls to mind Kathy Griffin’s photo holding a bloody, severed head.
A video of the moment was posted to Instagram and can be seen below:

It’s funny how all these bands use to hate the government. Now they love the government.

Holy shit this is just as cringe as 50+ year old gangster rappers (looking at you @Eminem).
These guys went from railing against the government to becoming propagandists for the government. I hope it was worth it.

Is Billie Joe related to Kathy Griffin?
Sure seems like a copy cat publicly stunt.
The backlash Griffin received should be the same for Green Day.— Penny Lane (@Penny_FL13) July 30, 2024
