Former President Donald J. Trump reacted to the news that his nemesis Mitt Romney is teaming up with Paul Ryan to host a donor summit for several of his Republican opponents for the 2024 nomination.
Romney and Ryan will reunite as the two RINOs who were running together on the doomed 2012 GOP ticket that choked away a winnable election to Barack Obama will put on a two-day event in Park City, Utah this week to try to settle an alternative to Trump, who is running away with the race.
The Utah senator and the former Speaker of the House will welcome former VP Mike Pence, a duo of former GOP governors, Chris Christie, and the media’s current favorite Nikki Haley for the closed-door gala that will be a political meat market for high-rolling donors and will feature speakers including former Attorney General Bill Barr and Georgia Governor Brian Kemp.
In addition to Pence, Christie, and Haley, North Dakota Governor Doug Burgum will be in attendance despite currently polling at a horrific 1 percent in the latest Morning Consult survey on the Republican primary race.
Ryan told CNBC that any “non-indicted” candidates are welcome at the 11th edition of the E2 Summit, an event that was launched by Romney that’s been “helmed” by his former running mate since 2019, according to the Washington Post.
Romney and Ryan are facing the tough task of derailing the Trump express and the overwhelming favorite mocked both of them and their summit.
“I understand Candidates that are losing by 57 to 70 Points are getting together with RINO Paul RINO, Mitt ‘The Loser’ Romney, Bill ‘No Guts or Talent’ Barr, and some broken political ‘investors’ that will soon come to me, as most others already have. These failed Candidates should have started by campaigning effectively, which they didn’t because they don’t have the skill or the talent!” Trump wrote on Truth Social on Tuesday.

“Romney, who today couldn’t get elected “dogcatcher” in the Great State of Utah, should have beaten an absolutely failed first-term Obama,” the ex-POTUS added. “If he and RINO Paul fought as hard against Obama as they do against President Donald J. Trump, they would never have lost, but remember, Republicans ‘Eat Their Young,’ and that’s the problem with so many in our Party, they go after the people who are on their side, rather than the Radical Left Democrats that are DESTROYING OUR COUNTRY. These are LOSERS, and the Republican Nation must stop following their failed ideas and policies. They only help Crooked Joe Biden!”
Notable snubs are the two other Republican candidates who are running on rolling back the “woke” cultural revolution and putting America first, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis and biotech entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy, both of whom like Trump are persona non grata to the donor class.
“Here’s a radical idea: voters should decide who the nominee is, rather than Super PACs or closed-door mega donor summits. This epitomizes all that’s wrong with the broken GOP,” Ramaswamy wrote on X.

Former Romney campaign finance chair Spencer Zwick is quoted by the Washington Post as saying that the attendees are “sincerely looking for an alternative to Donald Trump” who “want to get excited about getting behind someone that they believe would be a thoughtful, serious candidate for president.”
“To pretend like Donald Trump isn’t looming over the presidential primary would be would be foolish — they understand that. But this group is not just going to sit back and say, ‘Okay, well, let’s just accept that Donald Trump’s going to be the nominee,’” Zwick added. “If people in this room, and at this gathering, start to really get behind one or two of these candidates. You’re going to see some real movement in the polls. … At some point, and hopefully, in the not too distant future, we can start to coalesce around a smaller group of candidates.”
Romney, who similarly tried to sabotage Trump in 2016 but failed, is once again prioritizing his vendetta against the America First leader over what should be the top priority for ALL Republicans in getting Joe Biden out of the White House before he can finish destroying the country.
