Scaramucci reaches for Orwell’s ‘Animal Farm’ to take a swipe at Vivek Ramaswamy

Former White House communications director Anthony Scaramucci is weighing in on the Ohio gubernatorial race.

On Sunday, he took to X with his prediction that Vivek Ramaswamy will lose to his Democratic opponent Amy Acton, and compared the Republican to the pig from George Orwell’s ‘Animal Farm.’

Look:

“This was a low blow; it was guttural, and I think it will hurt Ramaswamy,” Scaramucci said of the decision to run an ad featuring Acton’s mother. “And I’m gonna tell you something that’s very Orwellian, because Ramaswamy started in 2024 with some soaring rhetoric. ‘I’m a technology entrepreneur, I’m post-partisan. I’m a data-dependent young man who can help bring good government, and good government efficiency, and good government services to the American people. That was their campaign message.”

“But I say it’s Orwellian because, like the pigs at the end of ‘Animal Farm,‘ they hated the two-legged farmers, the two-legged animals, but by the end of the novella they’re living in the house and they’re up on their hind legs. And they got their little vests on with their pocket watches, and they become what they abhor,” he continued. “So what Ramaswamy has done, and a lot of politicians do in order to win, is break first principles; in order to win, they break whatever their righteous philosophies are, and they get into a scum position. And I think he did that to himself, and I think he’ll lose the election, and I think he has finished himself as a potential candidate in future elections.”
