MS NOW host Joe Scarborough threw a temper tantrum early Tuesday morning in response to Vice President JD Vance meeting with Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán.
Orbán, who’s been in power since 2010, is up for reelection on April 12 but hasn’t been faring well in polls against his main opponent, Péter Magyar, the leader of the center-right Tisza Party.
Enter Vance, who traveled to Hungary this week in what some have described as “a last-ditch bid to rescue” Orbán’s flailing campaign:
🚨 HOLY CRAP! JD Vance just WENT HARD against the European Union, slamming tyrannical bureaucrats for trying to destroy Hungary because nationalist Viktor Orban leads them

The problem, according to Scarborough, is that in his opinion, Orbán is an “anti-democratic” thug who “hates Western liberalism” and is an ally of the big, bad bogeyman, Russian President Vladimir Putin.
“Everybody around Trump loves to run away from the word collusion – ‘No collusion, no collusion, no collusion,’” Scarborough ranted Tuesday. “Let’s talk about the collusion that’s going on right now between Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin to elect Orbán.”
Note that Scarborough never said anything when Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy “colluded” with former Vice President Kamala Harris to try to get her elected to office.
“We had, last week, [journalist] Michael Weiss on, they have a transcript of [Russian Foreign Minister Sergey] Lavrov talking to the foreign minister of Hungary, basically plotting and scheming to try to help Orbán out before the election,” Scarborough continued ranting.
“You have Donald Trump doing everything he can to get Orbán elected. You have JD Vance over there. … And they’re Vladimir Putin’s biggest friend, Vladimir Putin’s only hope in the EU. And you have Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin both working to the same end to elect the most anti-democratic thug, and he is a thug, in all of Europe,” he added.

Note that Hungary’s alleged “illiberalism” includes more focus on the traditional family, less crime, fewer taxes, higher appreciation for national identity, and less transgender nonsense.
Scarborough wasn’t done. He then turned his attention toward Republican members of Congress as he pounded the table in front of him with his fist.
“By the way, where are the Republicans?” he asked with fury. “Where are the people that grew up, like, believing what I believed growing up? Where are they? People that believe in the West, people that believe in Western democracy, people that believe in Western liberalism, people that believed in a free press, people that believed in a free election, people that believed in a strong West that pushed back against Russian authoritarianism!”
“Where are those Republicans in the Senate? Where are they in the House? Where are they on television? Where is my tribe? They have all vanished for Vladimir Putin and Viktor Orbán, where are they?” he concluded.

One thing the Trump administration shares in common with Orbán’s administration is a belief in strong borders and immigration policies. This is a belief NOT shared by the European Union (EU), as President Donald Trump himself noted in a December interview with Politico.
“If it keeps going the way it’s going, Europe will not be … in my opinion, uh, many of those countries will not be viable countries any longer,” he said. “Their immigration policy is a disaster. What they’re doing with immigration is a disaster.”
“We had a disaster coming, but I was able to stop it. You know, we have no people coming through our borders now, zero, seven months. I mean, who would believe zero? We went from millions of people — in some cases, millions of people a month — but millions of people to no people,” he added.
