Schumer cries foul when Trump reveals Dem leader suggested renaming Penn Station after him

Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) cried foul after President Donald J. Trump revealed that it was the New York City Democrat who suggested that Penn Station be renamed after him and not the other way around, as the media claimed.

Outlets that serve as mouthpieces for the Democratic Party, including CNN, reported that Trump told Schumer that, in exchange for lifting a freeze on billions in federal funding for a New York infrastructure project that the president demanded, the historic Gotham intercity railroad hub and Dulles International Airport, which serves Washington, D.C., would be renamed in his honor.

“The startling offer, which was described by two people familiar with the conversation, was swiftly rejected by Schumer, who told the president he didn’t have the power to deliver on such an unorthodox request,” CNN reported, relying on the usual anonymous sources that are an essential component of media disinformation and could potentially even be Schumer himself.

However, Trump blew up the faux scandal before it even left the launching pad.

“There are reports circulating that you told Chuck Schumer that in order to restore funding for the Gateway Train Tunnel in New York-New Jersey, you would want Penn Station and Dulles Airport to be named after you, is that true?” Trump was asked by a reporter on board Air Force One.

“He suggested that to me,” the president said, setting the record straight about Schumer’s behind-the-scenes dickering. “Chuck Schumer suggested that to me about changing the name of Penn Station to Trump Station.”

“Dulles Airport is really separate,” Trump added. “Dulles Airport is really not too involved with Congress, that’s a separate kind of a deal, as you know. But it was suggested to me by numerous people, unions, Democrats, Republicans, a lot of people suggested. Nothing’s been done on that.”

The leading Democrat extortionist balked at Trump calling a spade a spade.

“Absolute lie. He knows it. Everyone knows it,” Schumer said in a post to X. “Only one man can restart the project and he can restart it with the snap of his fingers.”

By all indications, the new Democrat hoax was teed up to be the weekend outrage until an errant Truth Social post by a staffer to Trump’s account that depicted Barack and Michelle Obama as apes hit the news cycle on Friday, driving Schumer and his fellow travelers bananas as they screeched racism and forgot all about the alleged quid pro quo over Penn Station.

Secretly collaborating with Trump while publicly trashing him as the great orange Satan isn’t likely to go over well with the Democrats’ rabidly anti-Trump base, the people that Schumer is going to have to have onboard if he is to fend off an expected challenge from Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) in the coming Democratic primary – and he knows it.
