Schumer sports a Corona as prop in cringeworthy rant about Trump tariffs on Mexico

Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer was mocked for his out-of-touch attempt to use beer as a prop to blast President Donald Trump.

The New York Democrat attacked Trump for threatening to impose tariffs on Mexico, warning that the move will likely “hit Americans in their wallets.” To make his point, Schumer used a can of Corona beer because “most of it… comes from Mexico.”

Over the weekend, Trump signed an order that will impose 25% tariffs on Mexican and Canadian imports, citing his authority under the International Emergency Economic Powers Act.

“We need to protect Americans, and it is my duty as President to ensure the safety of all,” the president wrote on social media.

Democrats predictably objected to the move and Schumer used props in his cringeworthy rant about Trump’s actions, using Superbowl Sunday in his appeal.

“It’s going to affect beer, okay? Most of it, Corona here, comes from Mexico,” he said, holding up the beer can.

But the Democrat leader wasn’t done as he warned that the tariffs would also affect “your guac,” holding up an avocado.

Schumer drove home his Superbowl connection on his X account where he posted several messages about how Trump would be ruining appetizers and snacks on Game Day.

Social media users blasted the senator, remembering his previous cringey barbeque post.
