The Governator summed up what it meant to be a Democrat, furthering his criticism of leftist politicians who seemingly “want to f*ck up every city in America.”
The harsh rebuke from actor, bodybuilder, businessman and former Republican California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger came as he promoted his new book for which the title itself could be used to slam blue state leaders. As the author of “Be Useful: Seven Tools for Life” suggested to actor Rob Lowe on the “Literally!” podcast, the dichotomy in American politics has a fairly clear theme of late.
While dodging a qualifier on his own party affiliation, labeling himself a generic moderate, Lowe brought up mutual friend former California Rep. David Dreier (R) to whom he attributed “four or five things” that define a Republican.
Listing, “in no particular order, strong military, low taxes, less government, more personal freedoms,” before Schwarzenegger added “Strong law enforcement,” Lowe then asked the guest how he would define a Democrat.
“Ruin your cities,” he summed up around the 49-minute mark.
Expanding on the assertion, the former GOP governor said, “That’s what the Democrats would say. We are about ruining your cities. We want to f*ck up every city in America. That seems to be the theme right now.”
In reaction, Lowe wondered, “Why is that?”
“I have no idea,” noted Schwarzenegger, who proceeded to explain how the fundamentals of Republicanism described by Lowe were what made him vote GOP when he first moved to the United States in 1968 and put his support behind then-former Vice President Richard Nixon for president.
The slam against Democrats came just days after he had sat down with the women of ABC’s “The View” where he knocked down co-host Ana Navarro’s attempt to take a cheap shot against Republicans with an indirect criticism of President Joe Biden’s handling of the border crisis.
Referring to Schwarzenegger as a Republican “back when Republicans were sane,” she went on to ask him for perspective, particularly in light of Biden’s recent reversal on border wall construction.
“I’ve seen firsthand how this is not a one, kind of a, step approach,” he replied. “You have to really have comprehensive immigration reform, and you have to look at this immigration problem in a comprehensive way. You can, first of all, I believe very strongly in having a border that no one can get through. That’s number one for me.”

The outspoken critic of former President Donald Trump didn’t hold back on Biden either as he dug into both political figures when speaking with Lowe and called out alleged corruption as part of a follow-up on his opinion of Robert F. Kennedy’s bid for the presidency.
“It depends of how much more gets exposed of the corruption charges of the misuse of power on Trump’s side, corruption with the Biden side…it’s just — everything moves all the time with these new revelations,” Schwarzenegger said as he expressed his view that the 2024 presidential election was truly anyone’s to win.
