Secret Service delays Trump’s Nashville speech following security concern

The Secret Service reportedly delayed former President Donald Trump’s speech in Tennessee over a security concern.

Just before he was set to take the stage at the Music City Center in Nashville for the 2024 Bitcoin conference, Trump was told to wait briefly by his Secret Service detail as two attendees were removed.

“Former President Trump’s remarks were delayed at the 2024 Bitcoin conference in Nashville, Tennessee when two credentialed and screened individuals were removed from the premises for not following proper entry protocols,” a Secret Service spokesperson told ABC News.

The spokesperson told the outlet that there was “never a threat” to the Republican presidential nominee but he was told to wait to deliver his address until the two individuals were located.

“It was determined that there was no protective interest with these individuals and there was never a threat to the former president,” the spokesperson said.

Trump commented on the delay as soon as he took the stage over the weekend, the event coming exactly two weeks after an assassination attempt on his life during his rally in Butler, Pennsylvania.

“So, Secret Service just told me, ‘Sir we would like a little more time.’ I said you take all the time you want,” Trump said as the audience laughed.

Though the individuals were eventually questioned by law enforcement and removed from the event, they were not charged with anything. They reportedly made it past a checkpoint screening.
