There’s no denying at this stage that the deep state is alive and well, and should you cross the current regime in Washington you can almost count on one three-letter agency or another to have you on their radar.
However, should you go as far as “Dukes of Hazzard” star John Schneider did in informing President Joe Biden via a tweet that he believes he and his son, Hunter, should be publicly executed for treason, you can expect the Secret Service to take notice – and that’s just what happened.
The Secret Service opened an investigation into Schneider expressing his opinion that Biden and his son “are guilty of treason and should be publicly hung,” according to Deadline.
There has been no official acknowledgment of the probe from the Secret Service or the White House, but Deadline cited “sources close to events confirm a probe is in the preliminary stage.”
In a now-deleted tweet, Schneider wrote, “Mr. President, I believe you are guilty of treason and should be publicly hung. Your son too. Your response is..? Sincerely, John Schneider.”
He has since denied that he was leveling a threat against the president and his son.
“Seriously, folks? This is my final comment on this,” the actor said in a statement to Deadline. “I neither said nor implied any such thing. Despite headlines claiming otherwise, in my post, I absolutely did not call for an act of violence or threaten a U.S. president as many other celebrities have done in the past. I suggest you re-read my actual post and pay attention to the words before believing this nonsense.”
“It’s my position, which I am entitled to have, that some of our nation’s leaders in Washington have lost their way, and corruption runs rampant, both on our nation’s borders and abroad,” he added. “Transparency and accountability must happen in order for our constitutional republic to survive. There is no threat implied or otherwise in that statement.”
Schneider did not directly threaten to hang Biden, nor did he call for anyone else to hang the president. As seen above, he did note that there were countless threats leveled against Biden’s predecessor, former President Donald Trump. Kathy Griffin ring a bell?
Of course, the former teen idol’s real crime may be that he supports Donald Trump for president.
In a related development, Fox News canceled media interviews with Schneider over his deleted tweet, according to The Hollywood Reporter, which claimed “the ‘Dukes of Hazzard’ actor called for the president’s execution.”
On Wednesday, Schneider was unmasked in the season 10 finale of “The Masked Singer,” finishing second in the competition — he tearfully noted he was marking his first Christmas without his wife, Alicia, who died in February from cancer.
“Really, doing The Masked Singer empowered me. … I’m a pretty strong guy, but I’m also a very emotional guy,” he said. “Being out there on that stage dressed like a donut, singing some of the greatest songs ever written and having people respond to the songs and the performance with no notion that it was me, really, really helped John Schneider.”
