President Trump is calling for the arrest of six Democrat lawmakers who appeared in a video to call upon military personnel to defy orders from the commander in chief.
Senator Elissa Slotkin (D-MI), Senator Mark Kelly (D-AZ), as well as Reps. Jason Crow (D-CO), Chris Deluzio (D-PA), Chrissy Houlahan (D-PA), and Maggie Goodlander (D-NH) released the video on Tuesday, when they urged intelligence and military members to “refuse” Trump’s “illegal orders.”
“Right now, the threats to our constitution aren’t just coming from abroad, but from right here at home. Our laws are clear: You can refuse illegal orders. You can refuse illegal orders. You must refuse illegal orders,” the Dems said.
The shocking video was slammed by Trump officials, as the Democrats, who had all served in the military, were accused of calling for a true “insurrection.”
“Don’t give up the ship” is a siren song for sedition, vague enough to dodge the noose but sharp enough to hook the disloyal. As a Gitmo and Iraq vet (Major, ret.), I’ve sworn that oath twice: To the Constitution, not a party’s “purges” or a pol’s playbook.
You can’t specify…

Fast forward to Thursday, when Trump called for the arrest of every Democrat in the video for “seditious” behavior and urged that “an example” be set.
“Each one of these traitors to our Country should be ARRESTED AND PUT ON TRIAL. Their words cannot be allowed to stand – We won’t have a Country anymore!!! An example MUST BE SET,” Trump posted on Truth Social.
The president followed up with another post:
“This is really bad, and Dangerous to our Country,” he stated. “Their words cannot be allowed to stand. SEDITIOUS BEHAVIOR FROM TRAITORS!!! LOCK THEM UP??? President DJT”
President Trump’s call to arrest and trial the Dems rang out far and wide on X:
This wasn’t a legal argument by Democrats.
It is straight politics and they’re laying the groundwork for a military coup.
This is blatant, unapologetic sedition and they should be prosecuted accordingly.

It’s 100% sedition. This cannot be allowed to stand. Arrest every traitor Democrat who made the video. pic.twitter.com/O9fXoBrKNq

While I completely agree that what these elected officials did is repugnant, I’m not sure it can be prosecuted. What they said is basically what you take an oath to do. The implication is that Trump is issuing illegal orders, which is not correct. I heard one of these…

I hope the DOJ sees it through— allow the court to rule on it.
then we will know, on paper, what is or is not legal.
I find, the best way for us to get out of the drama plays of political theater is start bringing people to court and let them describe the law.

Glad to see President Trump is finally speaking up, NOW WE NEED @AGPamBondi to actually take action, and have these Democrats prosecuted for SEDITION.
These PEOPLE are TRAITORS! Telling service members to refuse “unspecified” unlawful orders. What unlawful orders are they…
