President Donald J. Trump signed an executive order cracking down on mail-in voting in advance of this year’s midterm elections, a move that was met by a furious reaction from Democrats.
With the SAVE America Act in limbo due to inaction from Senate Majority Leader John Thune (R-SD), the president has chosen to be proactive by targeting mail-in voting, which has been abused by Democrats and their election cheating machine, and is a key to the party’s hopes of retaking control of Congress in November.
In a Tuesday Oval Office ceremony, Trump signed off on the order, which he said was about “voter integrity and mail-in ballots” and for “stopping the massive cheating that’s gone on.”

“That’s a big deal,” Trump said. “I think this will help a lot with elections. We’d like to have voter ID. We’d like to have proof of citizenship, and that’ll be another subject for another time. We’re working on that. You would think it’d be easy.”
The order directs the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and Social Security Administration (SSA) to create a national list of verified eligible voters, which will be sent to states and the U.S. Postal Service (USPS) to create safeguards to ensure election integrity, including barcode tracking.
“The Federal Government has an unavoidable duty under Article II of the Constitution of the United States to enforce Federal law, which includes preventing violations of Federal criminal law and maintaining public confidence in election outcomes. To enhance election integrity via the United States Mail, additional measures are necessary,” reads the order, which is posted on the White House’s official website.
Predictably, the Democrats went totally berserk at the threat to their mail-in voting schemes and will now turn to their allies on the courts to thwart Trump’s order and maintain their ability to game the system for the midterms.
“See you in court. You will lose,” declared Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) in a post to X after Trump signed the order.

“We’re challenging it,” vowed California Gov. Gavin Newsom, the 2028 Democrat frontrunner. “See you in court.”

“Republicans are complete phonies with their voter suppression scheme,” House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY) fumed.

“Donald Trump and Republicans know that the American people have had enough of their extremism, disastrous policies, and chaos. Voters are ready to take our country back in November. Instead of working to make life more affordable, Republican extremists are determined to make it harder for people to vote so they can desperately cling to power,” the New York City Democrat said in a statement that also invoked J6.
Trump hit them where it really hurts, and other Democrats yelped at the pain.
This is unconstitutional. Voting is a fundamental right for every American. Illinois will keep administering free and fair elections – and what Donald Trump puts on a piece of paper will not change that. https://t.co/z6OZZmUUd1

Trump knows his war with Iran is unpopular.
Trump knows Americans are angry that he’s made everything more expensive.
Instead of reversing course, Trump is trying to rig the next election.

This is bullshit. And it’s illegal. We’ll see President Trump in court. https://t.co/YZ5hkmLyPG

“The cheating on mail-in voting is legendary. It’s horrible what’s going on,” Trump also said as he signed the order. “I think this will help a lot with elections.”
