Seemingly tense funeral exchange between Joe and Barack has social media buzzing

A brief interaction this Wednesday between President Joe Biden and former President Barack Obama has social media buzzing.

The interaction occurred as Biden, Obama, and several others — including former President Bill Clinton and former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi — were attending a memorial service for Ethel Kennedy.

Just prior to the start of the memorial service, Biden and Obama were seen having a private pow-wow during which Obama appeared to at one point say “nope” and “not good” while shaking his head.

Watch the full interaction below:

A more condensed version can be seen below:

At one point, Obama tried to turn away from Biden, prompting the current president to reach out and touch his arm.

The conversation was eventually interrupted by Clinton, who looked over at them and gestured toward the front of the room.

What remains unknown is what exactly the two spoke about. Social media users have posited an abundance of amusing theories.

Look:

Funny stuff.

Someone also used artificial intelligence technology to recreate a fictional audio version of the discussion between the two men.

“So is Kamala doing ok?” the fictional rendition begins with Biden asking Obama.

“No, she’s down, Joe,” Obama replies. “I think they found out that she’s retarded and now we’re basically f–ked. Trump is killing us at the polls, so yes, we’re going to lose, Joe.”

“Damnit! Wait. What if I come back to run again?” Biden then presses.

“Well, let me put it this way, Joe, the only person in this world who is even more retarded than Kamala Harris is basically you,” Obama replies. “So no, Joe, you’re not going back in. Let’s let it all play out.”

“Come on, man, give me another shot,” Biden then pleads.

“We’ll talk later, Joe,” Obama says.

The clip ends with Clinton interrupting them to blurt out, “Women looking fine up in here!”

Watch:

Also funny.

Not as funny is the apparent seriousness of the conversation between the two men, which at one point definitely included Obama saying “nope.”

Look:

What could they possibly have been discussing? Nobody seems to know.

What’s known is that the event marked the first time Biden and Obama have met up and spoken since the president dropped out of the 2024 race and endorsed his vice president, Kamala Harris.

The event also reportedly marked the first time that Biden has spoken with Pelosi since he dropped out.
