Self-awareness? Ilhan Omar gripes about ‘ugliest, most disgusting campaign’ against her

While voters were able to successfully give two “Squad” members their walking papers, Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) was able to hang on to her seat.

During her victory speech, she ripped into her opponent for “aligning with literal Nazis” and running “one of the ugliest, most disgusting campaigns” against her that she’d ever seen.

Watch:

While the results may be disappointing for those who wanted Omar removed from office, others are less surprised by the outcome:

For those counting small victories, Jamaal Bowman and Cori Bush were ousted by voters. Bowman lost his primary to pro-Israel moderate Democrat George Latimer, and Bush lost to St. Louis County District Attorney Wesley Bell.

Neither reacted to the news very well.

“We should not be well adjusted to a sick society,” Bowman said. “We should be outraged. We should be outraged when a Super PAC of dark money can spend $20 million to brainwash people into believing something that isn’t true. We should be outraged about that.”

“We should be outraged when, unfortunately, some so-called Democrats are aligning themselves with radical, racist, right-wing Republicans,” he added.

Meanwhile, Bush threatened to go after AIPAC.

“Because now, there are some strings that I have attached. And as much as I love my job, all they did was radicalize me, and now they should be afraid,” she said.“They’re about to see this other Cori, this other side,” warned the outspoken critic of Israel’s war in Gaza. “There is nothing that happens in my life that happens in vain. So, this happened because it was meant to happen. And let me say, it’s because of the work that I need to do.”

“And let me say this: AIPAC, I’m coming to tear your kingdom down!” she shouted to a cheering crowd.
