Anti-Israel and pro-Palestinian demonstrations broke out at several college campuses in the wake of the terrorist attack on Israel and U.S. Sen. Josh Hawley wants to know who’s been funding them.
Speaking on Fox News’s “Hannity,” the Missouri Republican criticized the schools for allowing “crazy student groups” to stage demonstrations in which Israel is being blamed for the atrocities that Hamas has been perpetrating against its citizens.
“Let’s start with our colleges, our universities,” host Sean Hannity said, launching the discussion.
“We had a debate on this show last night, Senator. We had Cornel West and Alan Dershowitz debating this issue, Cornel West mostly agreeing with the Harvard groups, all 31 of them, on the issue of blaming Israel and Israel only, and said things needed to be more ‘nuanced.’ And I’m like, we’re talking about supporting terrorists. How is it that a prestigious university like Harvard could have students this, frankly, dumb and ignorant? Makes me want to send my kids to a state school any day over that institution,” Hannity said, referring to the shocking letter signed by Harvard student groups condemning Israel.
“You know, and that same institution, Sean, as I recall, was quick to fly the flag of Ukraine over Harvard yard, but now, when Israel is under attack, their terrorists are murdering children, cutting off the heads of babies, they want to wipe Israel off the face of the map,” Hawley responded.
“Let’s be honest: They would kill every Jew in the world if they could,” the senator added.
“That’s what the terrorists want and to be silent in the face of that or to celebrate it as these crazy student groups are doing? What I want to know is who’s funding these student groups,” Hawley demanded.
“I hope the DOJ is investigating where the money is coming from. Are there terror groups who are part of these networks who are infiltrating our campuses?” he continued, calling out the college administrations directly. “This is crazy stuff that we’re seeing on these campuses, and for these administrators to have their hand out and take federal money, taxpayer money, and (on) the same dime be silent or silently condone this kind of terrorism, it is just grotesque.”
Harvard’s President Emeritus Larry Summers leveled a blistering criticism of the school for its response to the Hamas terror attack on Israel, expressing how “sickened” it made him feel. In a message posted to social media, he declared how “disillusioned and alienated” he felt at the “silence from Harvard’s leadership” as well as a shocking letter from 31 student organizations that blamed Israel itself.

The “Joint Statement by Harvard Palestine Solidarity Groups on the Situation in Palestine” was signed on by 31 Harvard organizations and released on Sunday.
Ignoring the atrocities being committed by Hamas amid reports of mass rape, kidnappings and the murder of hundreds, the groups demanded an end to the suffering of Palestinians and claimed the attacks “did not occur in a vacuum.”
“The apartheid regime is the only one to blame. Israeli violence has structured every aspect of Palestinian existence for 75 years,” the letter stated. “From systematized land seizures to routine airstrikes, arbitrary detentions to military checkpoints, and enforced family separations to targeted killings, Palestinians have been forced to live in a state of death, both slow and sudden.”
Hawley’s call for an investigation met some mixed reactions on X where many users didn’t hold out much hope for anything significant out of the Biden Justice Department.
What a joke, the DOJ, the same ones persecuting it’s political opponents.
