A leading Senate Democrat has raised the possibility that impeachment is on the table if former President Donald J. Trump wins next year’s election and returns to the White House, particularly if he pardons the January 6, 2021 protesters, many of whom have been held as political prisoners in a special D.C. prison that some have likened to a Chinese gulag, a move that the 2024 GOP frontrunner said he was open to during Wednesday’s CNN town hall.
On Thursday, when discussing the town hall with reporters, Senator Richard Blumenthal (D-Conn.) raised the threat of impeachment if Trump were to pardon the political prisoners who were hunted down like terrorists with most of them having done nothing more than to trespass inside of the Capitol, or as former Speaker Nancy Pelosi refers to it, “the temple of Democracy,” on the fateful day that has been falsely presented as a legitimate attempt at overthrowing the U.S. government.
“If he pardons the January 6 rioters, the insurrectionists who almost destroyed our democracy, I think it’s another grounds for impeachment,” lisped Blumenthal, “I think to so violate the American trust by pardoning the January 6 insurrectionists would be itself a betrayal of trust that would warrant an impeachment process.”
“And I think that the motives and the potential influences on him in pardoning January 6th rioters who literally caused deaths of Capitol policemen, I think would be beyond the pale, “he added, invoking the Big Lie that protesters murdered police officers.

Blumenthal was referring to a question from a member of the audience at New Hampshire’s Saint Anselm College on whether he would consider pardons for those who were swept up in the government’s brutal crackdown on his supporters after the 2020 election.
“I am inclined to pardon many of them,” Trump said. “I can’t say for every single one because a couple of them, probably they got out of control, but you know when you look at Antifa, what they’ve done to Portland and if you look at Antifa, look at what they’ve done to Minneapolis and so many other, so many other places. Look at what they did to Seattle, and BLM, BLM, many people were killed … these people…”
“I’m not trying to justify anything, but you have two standards of justice in this country,” he continued. “Because what they’ve done to so many people is nothing, nothing. And then what they’ve done to these people, they’ve persecuted these people, and yeah, my answer is I am most likely, if I get in, I will most likely, I would say it would be a large portion of them,” as the audience applauded. “And they’re living in hell right now.”

“They’re living in hell. And they’re policemen, and they’re firemen, and they’re soldiers, and they’re carpenters and electricians and they’re great people,” Trump said. “Many of them are just great people.”
“In Washington, D.C., you cannot get a fair trial, you cannot,” he added. “Just like in New York City, you can’t get a fair trial either,” as the audience again erupted in applause.
Like so many other Democrats, Trump jabbed the senator whom he tabbed “Da Nang Dick” for the embellishment of his combat service during the Vietnam War, a completely concocted story.
How does Da Nang Dick (Blumenthal) serve on the Senate Judiciary Committee when he defrauded the American people about his so called War Hero status in Vietnam, only to later admit, with tears pouring down his face, that he was never in Vietnam. An embarrassment to our Country!

“How does Da Nang Dick (Blumenthal) serve on the Senate Judiciary Committee when he defrauded the American people about his so-called War Hero status in Vietnam, only to later admit, with tears pouring down his face, that he was never in Vietnam. An embarrassment to our Country!” Trump said in a 2019 tweet.
A rarely used political measure historically reserved for extreme situations until recent years when it has been abused by Democrats, an impeachment over such pardons would be the third brought by the left-wing party against Trump, both prior efforts failed and its probably too much to expect that the third time would be the charm.
