The report of an alleged sexual assault at Mar-a-Lago prompted a secondary lawsuit as the accused now seeks to take the purported victim — his former girlfriend — to court.
There have been rare examples of people who appear to have gained insider access to President Donald Trump that leave supporters shaking their heads. Now, after it was reportedly suppressed to avoid a scandal leading into the election, one such individual claimed “vicious lies” were spread to ruin his reputation after an alleged sexual assault at the private club went public late last week.
Following a report from the Daily Mail on Friday, 48-year-old Cameron Moore filed a complaint against his ex-girlfriend claiming that she had no right to record an argument between them and that she had lied to Maria Selloni, a Mar-a-Lago club member, claiming he “forc[ed] himself inside her, sexually assaulted her and intentionally tried to impregnate her” on November 2, 2023.
According to the report, the 39-year-old girlfriend, a single mother, was visiting Moore from Utah when he allegedly sexually assaulted her at Mar-a-Lago. Later on, she was said to have recorded an argument with him that she turned over to “a Mar-a-Lago official, the Secret Service director and a senior Trump aide who reportedly played it for Donald’s son Eric.”
Those individuals were identified as Mar-a-Lago’s Executive Assistant and Guest Services director Heather Rinkus, the current Director of U.S. Secret Service Sean Curran, and the now-White House Director of Minority Outreach Lynne Patton.
Prior to Moore’s latest suit, the Daily Mail had reported on a suit filed in January 2024 against Selloni, the member of Mar-a-Lago who is said to have passed around the recorded argument. She was then accused of defamation and invasion of privacy.
Selloni was also said to have made “false statements” to Moore’s “professional acquaintance,” former Utah state Rep. Phil Lyman (R), and the plaintiff, described by the Daily Mail as a “diehard MAGA fan,” accused Selloni of taking a “calculated path” to ruin his reputation.
Though the scandal had gone unreported prior to the Daily Mail’s coverage, it was noted that Moore’s membership at Mar-a-Lago was lost in 2024, “threatening his connections to Trump’s inner circle, including FBI Director Kash Patel … and Trump-appointed Supreme Court Justice Neil Gorsuch.”
It was suggested that Moore had endeavored to keep up appearances about his access to high-profile individuals as the outlet detailed, “In late August, Moore posted what seemed to be a fresh video of himself standing with Trump confidante Roger Stone, who was celebrating his birthday and can be seen thanking Trump for treating them to dinner that night. But Stone tells the Daily Mail that the video showing him with Moore was actually shot at his 71st birthday two years ago.”
Though the plaintiff has since returned to California, the outlet indicated that, “Moore moved to Palm Beach from California in 2022 to expand his network in the center of the Trump universe,” and according to one regular at Mar-a-Lago, “The problems came from him consistently bringing unvetted guests to the club.”
