Shameless Schiff uses Capitol cops as props – Kash Patel refuses to play along

FBI director nominee Kash Patel was grilled by Democrats who were less interested in his vision for reforming the tarnished agency than in grandstanding and looking for social media “gotcha” moments, and Sen. Adam Schiff (D-CA) was among the worst.

The censured former House lawmaker predictably brought up the so-called “insurrection” on January 6, 2021, one of the biggest lies ever perpetrated on the American people by Democrats and their allies, trying to shame Patel by using Capitol cops who were in the room as props during his time grilling President Donald J. Trump’s pick to head up the Bureau.

Leftist senators based their smears on a song by some J6 hostages that Patel promoted to raise money for the families of those who were unjustly imprisoned by the Biden regime and were either pardoned or had their sentences commuted by Trump after he took office, yet another hoax from Democrats cooked up solely for the purpose of smearing Patel.

At one point during his hectoring questioning of the nominee, Schiff urged the former prosecutor and House Intelligence Committee aide to turn around and look the police sitting behind him in the eyes, a typically slimy ploy by the newly minted senator who has taken his shameless ways to the upper chamber. But Patel wasn’t playing the game.

“I want you to turn around,” Schiff ordered. “There are Capitol police officers behind you, they’re guarding us right now. Take a look at them right now, turn around.”

“I’m looking at you,” Patel responded. “You’re talking to me.”

“No, look at them. I want you to look at them if you can,” Shiff said, commanding Patel to obey him. “If you have the courage to look them in the eye, Mr. Patel, and tell them you’re proud of what you did. Tell them you’re proud that you raised money off of the people who assaulted their colleagues, that pepper sprayed them, that beat them with poles. Tell them you’re proud of what you did, Mr. Patel. They’re right there. They’re guarding you today. Tell them how proud you are.”

Patel shot back, “That’s an abject lie, and you know it. I’ve never, never, ever accepted violence against law enforcement. I’ve worked with these men and women as you know my entire life, and I did not make a single dime out of it. How about you ask them if I have their backs and you see about that answer.”

Schiff later posted a clip of his goading of Patel to X.

The new Democrat senator’s disgraceful line of questioning was slammed by others on X including former acting director of national intelligence Richard Grenell.

“California’s Senator @SenAdamSchiff screams and screeches about the January 6th choir during Kash’s confirmation – and completely misses an opportunity to represent commonsense Californians,” he wrote. “We want representatives who don’t lie. Who don’t miss the big picture. Schiff is partisan and petty.”

“Schiff can’t be trusted to serve on committees,” noted Tom Fitton of the conservative legal watchdog organization Judicial Watch.

More reactions to Schiff’s slimy hectoring of an honorable man with a long history of public service.

Democrats relied heavily on Trump’s freeing of the J6 prisoners, developing a newfound concern for police that was missing when violent thugs burned down cities in 2020 and law enforcement officers were smeared as racists and murderers, a cynical line of attack that only further illustrates the barrenness of the left-wing party.

The performance by Democrat senators during the hearings for Patel and other Trump nominees serves as a perfect reminder of why the party was resoundingly rejected by the American people in last year’s election, and will be again if they don’t change their ways.
