SeatGeek, a ticket-selling platform, is under fire after a job posting caught the attention of the public — and not in a good way.
In its search for an analytics engineer, the company created a post seeking applicants with “a strong opinion on how we should build and use data to fuel decision-making.” If hired, the new employee can expect to “join a team of Analytics Engineers that will develop data pipelines and use SQL- and Python-based ETL frameworks to acquire, process, and deliver data to consumers around SeatGeek” and “enable AI-assisted stakeholder data analysis by designing LLM-friendly DWH schemas, creating domain guides, and enforcing canonical naming conventions across all tables to be consumed by the AI agent.”
As for what SeatGeek is offering as benefits, well, that’s where people are getting heated. There’s the standard “WFH stipend to support your home office setup” and “health, vision, dental, and life insurance” one might expect. There are even eye-popping offerings such as “unlimited PTO” and “up to 16 weeks of fully-paid family leave.” Of course, the salary of $121,000 – $175,000
Ticketing platform @SeatGeek is offering job applicants up to $25K to cover “Gender Affirming Care” aka genitaI mutiIation.
If you buy from this company, that’s what you’re supporting.

But one perk caught the attention of confused readers: “Up to $25k towards family building, reproductive health services and Gender-affirming care.”
X users had a lot to say:
I would conclude that their prices are inflated, if they can offer such expensive “benefits.”

This also proves they’re price gouging if they can afford to offer this.

If you have unlimited PTO, why would you need the 16 weeks fully paid family leave?

How about lower tickets prices for all. They can save their own money for their own preferences.

What a weird thing to include on a job description

They should cover mental health care instead.

I didnt need to know this to know seat geek was evil.
— Harrison Krank (@HarrisonKrank) March 18, 2026
Yuck! I thought most companies moved past this crap? SeatGeek is about to FAFO.

If you buy from that company or, more importantly, work for that company, you support that DEI crap. Other employees are the pool-sharing beneficiaries of premiums that cover DEI. Too many competent competitors to ever use SeatGeek again.
