‘Slap in the face’: Woman who fled her apartment due to Tren de Aragua has message for lying media

A former Aurora, Colorado apartment dweller is outraged at the media and government for lying about the gang situation in town.

As previously reported, members of a violent Venezuelan prison gang, Tren de Aragua, have taken over several apartment complexes in Aurora, prompting former residents like Cindy Romero to flee in terror.

Yet to hear Colorado Gov. Jared Polis, a Democrat, and his corporate propaganda press media allies, either none of this is happening and it’s all just a figment of Donald Trump’s imagination, or it is happening but in such small numbers that there’s nothing to worry about.

Speaking with Fox News this week, Romero slammed both Polis and his media allies for their BS response to the crisis.

“I feel like it’s a slap in the face,” she said. “How many gangs is okay to have in Aurora? How many properties is okay to take over? How many people, who are citizens paying their bills, is it okay to displace?”

“I feel like the mayor and the governor and the [police] all downplay the situation. I was pushed out of my apartment by gang activity, people carrying guns in the hallway and patrolling the grounds with guns,” she added.

Romero lived in the affected apartment complexes until the crime became too much to handle.

“The couple’s security cameras recorded a group of men with guns forcing their way into a neighbor’s house,” Fox News notes. “Several shootouts occurred at the complex, Romero said. During one, a bullet hit her car. She said police rarely responded to her 911 calls.”

Romero’s complaints to Fox News come as a company that operates several apartment complexes in Aurora has come forward confirming the reality on the ground.

The company, CBZ Management, offered the confirmation in a Twitter thread posted last week in response to the “false information” being spread by the corporate propaganda press.

According to CBZ Management, the company took over the apartment complexes in 2019 with the goal of renovating each apartment.

“Everything was progressing smoothly: property values were rising, and vacancy rates were dropping. It was a win-win for both the owners and the city of Aurora,” the company explained in one post.

But then “the gangs arrived.”

Their arrival coincided with an uptick “in crime and tenant complaints,” with the most alarming incident occurring in late 2023 when a CBZ representative was attacked.

“He had gone to inspect a recently vacated three-bedroom apartment (a rare occurrence for such a large unit) only to find a group of men already inside,” CBZ explained in a post. “When he refused their $500 bribe to overlook the situation, they brutally attacked him.”

This reality is, as noted earlier, being disputed by Democrats and their lying corporate propaganda media allies.

Take what happened when Republican vice-presidential nominee Sen. J.D. Vance mentioned the gang activity during an MSNBC appearance this Sunday. Host Martha Raddatz immediately pushed back.

“I’m going to stop you because I know exactly what happened,” she said. “I’m going to stop you. The incidents were limited to a handful of apartment complexes, and the mayor said, ‘Our dedicated police officers have acted on those concerns.’ A handful of problems.”

Just a “handful,” huh? Vance rightly didn’t like her attitude.

“Martha, do you hear yourself?” he asked incredulously. “Only a handful of apartment complexes in America were taken over by Venezuelan gangs, and Donald Trump is the problem and not Kamala Harris’ open border?”

As for Romero, she spoke at Trump’s latest rally in Aurora last week.
